Cons: Severe twisting and tangling of laundry. Our old machine got clothes cleaner

We purchased the earlier edition of this model in June 2004.

Almost immediately, we encountered problems with the laundry coming out very twisted on many occasions, plus being intertwined with other pieces, requiring precious time to untangle. Over the next several months the very helpful dealer replaced almost every mechanical part in the machine. Nothing helped. Finally, in early 2005, they replaced the whole machine with our current model. Lo and behold, it's doing the same thing! We are certain that the two-piece agitator is causing this. (Why two pieces after decades of success with the one-piece? Our old Whirlpool washer was 39-years old!) After my letter to their CEO they are sending a factory tech in to retrofit our new machine with a one-piece agitator. We can only hope it works. We are now in the process of remodeling our kitchen and will need 4 new appliances. My wife said they will NOT be Whirlpools.
