With full HD spec 1080p resolution, dramatically enhanced black level and an elegant design, the AQUOS LC-52D64U produces a breathtaking picture qualit. The conventional three-wavelength red, green and blue LCD backlight just got better. Sharp has vastly improved natural color reproduction with the development of its four-wavelength backlight system, adding a remarkably vivid crimson red to the palette—and changing the way LCD TV is viewed. Author's Review
Buying a new tv is very complicated since we can choose between 3-4 differents technologies. I was really tempted by LCD tv and I already saw an aquos last year that was looking awesome. I checked the reviews on the net and it was highly rated. Also I the price was too low to resist, so I decided to choose the Sharp Aquos LC52D64U. In the store it was not looking so good and they were pushing the upper aquos model. I though that it was a selling trick. I was right.

When I got my new LC52D64U installed at home, it was looking awesome. First the design of this TV is very nice and it looks great in a room. The body of the tv is very nice, with thin black sides.

When I turned it on for the first time I was stunned by the brightness of the screen and the rich colors. I tried the settings and discovered an easy to understand, friendly user menu. You can adjust your video preference, and this tv also include a 'color temperature' control. I didn't change anything in that part of the video settings because I'm not an expert at all. But I changed the basic video settings and tried to calibrate for best result with Blu ray, PS3, hd cable and normal cable.

Normal cable looks ok, but I can't really ask more for 480i. HD cable, Blu ray and PS3 just look AWESOME. I wasn't expecting a better difinition !

I hear about banding issues on this TV, and honestly I DID NOT experience any banding issues since I got the tv.

I watched HD hockey and the ice was so white and no bands or artifacts was on it. Maybe some setting adjutment helped. There is also the "OPC" mode that will adjust the light of your TV, depending on the light in your room. The sensor will detects it.

This is a very thin TV with an impressive quantity programs and features.

I highly recommend this TV. If you don't want to spend 5000$ for a TV and you are looking for the best 1080p experience, go for the Sharp Aquos LC52D64U and you won't be disapointed. This is the best quality/price ratio you will find on the market !
