I don't usually write reviews, but when I saw this one, I had to put in my 2 cents. I was pregnant with my third child in three years and couldn't go on pushing that Graco Duoglide ANY MORE! I was afraid to push the weight of the stroller along with my two heavy boys (at the time they were 1 and 2 years) in them, for fear of sending myself into contractions!
I researched a few discussion boards, and took the advice of one mom and ordered this. BOY AM I GLAD I DID!! I am not kidding you when I say, with this stroller, I could push my two boys away from me with ONE finger. Friends of mine could not believe how easy it was to push. It is easier than pushing a shopping cart. My 75 year old severely arthritic, quadruple bypass grandmother was even able to push them with NO PROBLEM!
The bike tires and swivel front wheel makes for a smooth ride. I've seen lots of people using jogging strollers as a primary stroller, but their front wheel doesn't swivel. So, when they have to turn a corner, they have to lean the stroller back onto the back tires, and maneuver it that way. Not safe, and believe me, gets to be a real pain! Just by walking around the neighborhood, and people asking to try it, 3 additional people have bought this same stroller.
The only down sides to this stroller is that their isn't a built in snack tray (which I don't know that many double jogging strollers have anyway). Though, it does come with a front removable straight bar. You could purchase a snack holder and attach it to if you want. The other thing I would have liked was a parent cup holder. But, again, I purchased one and attached it myself. (Both items, I believe, are available in the single stroller version of this).
I agree with the other poster about the seats not sitting straight up for bigger kids. To adjust the backs, you have to pull a cord. This is supposed to give you an "unlimited" number of options for reclining, but, you can only pull it so far. They wind up sitting at about a 75 degree angle. I had the same problem with another stroller I had. Though, I haven't really had any problems with my kids complaining about it.
This stroller, as well as almost all other side by side strollers, can be hard to maneuver through doorways and eisles. If you are a hard core shopper, you may want to look into a tandem (back to back) stroller instead. I mainly use my stroller for walks, as taking 3 kids 3 years apart to the mall is a near impossibility on it's own!!
I really like the large pouch in the back. I usually kept my keys, wipes, etc. in there.
Even when I only take one child somewhere, I still take this stroller with me. When I try to use one of my single regular strollers, I wind up getting frustrated at hard they are to push!
This will roll over curbs, rocks, sidewalk cracks, everything. Only need to add a little air to the tires about once a year.
I also agree with the other posters that this stroller is large and heavy when putting it in and out of the car, but I think most double stroller are big and heavy(they have to be to securely accommodate another child). It is very easy to fold up and open.
I HIGHLY SUGGEST GETTING THIS STROLLER! It is well worth the money!! You will not be sorry.
