This is probably the best of this genre available but it could be improved on. I'm not sure how long Rival has owned this venerable line, but I don't believe it is what it used to be. The motor seems very strong. The tub just ok. The latches to hold the motor down seem mis-designed-they just don't work. When I called their customer service # to complain about a couple of missing screws, they suggested that I go to the hardware store. This after spending over $200 for an ice cream maker! When I insisted that they were responsible for replacing this part, they finally conceded, but then sent the wrong part.
