Pros: great concept, bagless, cordless, awesome color
Cons: not enough suction, poorly built - broke on me within 30 seconds
The Bottom Line:
If you don't have tile floors and you don't plan on using the dustbuster then you'll probably love this vacuum.

After my old canister vacuum died I started researching to replace it. I knew I wanted a stick vac, and it definately had to be bagless. When I ran across the Electrolux Pronto it felt like my dreams had some true. It was everything I wanted in a vacuum and it was cordless to boot. In general I'm leary of the whole cordless deal but we bought a cordless weed whacker over the summer and are thrilled with that so far so why not give a cordless vacuum a try?
I really wanted to love this vacuum. The reviews both here and at Amazon were great so I took the plunge and bought one at Lowes. The price was just under $100 and I gotta admit, it's one sharp looking floor cleaner. I love the color and I love the concept behind it. I even played with the display model in the store for a few minutes and I fell even further in love.
So anyway. I get my new Pronto home and unpack it eagerly. First thing on the menu of course is charging the thing. I spent most of the weekend walking around saying "I wanna vacuum!" but I was patient and waited for it to fully charge. When the moment finally came, I removed the Pronto from the charger, carried it into my bathroom and proceeded to try to vacuum up the cat litter in front of the litter box. That's a good test in my book. If a vacuum can handle cat litter than I'm fully prepared to worship it. But the Pronto couldn't handle the litter, not even on full power, at least not the litter that had fallen into the grout lines between the tiles on my floor. It was super quiet for a vacuum though and I still wanted to love it. I pushed the buttons at either side to release the dustbuster figuring I could just use that in the grout lines - I only have tile in that one tiny room and as I've said 100 times already, I really wanted to love this vacuum. The dustbuster picked up the litter just fine but...
When I tried to replace the dustbuster on the actual vacuum, it wouldn't stay put. the little buttons that I had to push to release the dustbuster were stuck and they wouldn't come back out and the buster just kept falling out of it's slot. My hubby took it into the kitchen and unscrewed everything to open it up and see what had happened and the plastic piece between the two buttons had snapped in two.
We returned it the very next day. I was and still am extremely disappointed. The Pronto seemed like a dream vacuum and I did my homework, I read all the reviews and everyone loved it. And just in case you think I got stuck with a lemon... Hubby says that the design for the whole button/dustbuster sucks, it's way too fragile and he's really surprised more people aren't complaining about this same problem.
