Pros: ~Hold the blender right in your hands for all your versatile blendings.
Cons: ~Does not stand alone well, as it is 'top heavy'. Just store laying down.
The Bottom Line:
Cuisinart Prep Hand Blender:~A great little 'kitchen hand tool' for versatile blending needs.
Author's Review
The
Cuisinart Quick Prep Hand Blender is a powerful kitchen tool. It is designed to do basic blending, and much more. By hand, you will
whip, puree, and emulsify with this hand blender, and it benefits more than just the 'cook'. Family members who have special needs, such as babies, older adults or anyone with a digestive problem will benefit from this blender. Cuisinart Quick Prep Hand Blender allows you to use fresh and raw food products to make your own baby food or 'preservative free' foods. Your purchase of this blender also includes a decent warranty.
I find this
blender nice for smashing yams to blend with marshmellows and brown sugar. Whips up a great fluffy pancake, too. There are many
quick recipes in the manual which is included in the package. Although the
Cuisinart Prep Hand Blender comes with a measuring container to use, you will find you may use other containers you already have in your kitchen.
The Cuisinart Prep Hand Blender package is:
~blender with 2 speeds.
{blender is a full ONE PIECE product with all attached}
{low and high speeds}
~motor unit encased in the handle
~shaft connecting a metal blade to the hand held unit
~'2 cup' container
~cord wrap conveniently located at the top of the handle
~protective guard over the blade
~manual complete with instructions, recipes and that all important warranty.
HOW IT WORKS:
The blender works by a gentle up and down motion. To puree, a more forceful action is used. YOU will more or less 'develop' a method. Once you are in 'liquid', don't pull the blade out while spinning. That, of course, results in splatter. {frown}. This blender is
neat to make shakes, frozen juice, and home made salad dressings. {There is a chloresterol free mayo dressing in manual.} It purees soups and sauces, too. There are also directions for bread crumbs. There is a suggested guide to follow for using the LOW or HIGH speed. Because you can puree or emulsify, you are able to use pure food ingredients. What a versatile blender..held in the hands. The
Cuisinart Quick Prep Hand Blender is a nice blender with high impact housing. And it is easy to wipe clean.
Cleaning and Storing:
Because the
motor is in the handle of the blender, you will not submerge the blender itself to clean. After using your hand blender, UNPLUG, and hold the blade under hot running water. If particles do remain, {as you will use it for puree, and crumbing}you can use a bottle brush to dislodge or a clean damp cloth. After using an 'oily recipe', you may want to soak the blade in soapy water. Just make sure NOT to soak above the shaft as the motor IS in the handle. {UNPLUGGED}. I find it is easier to store the blender in the box it is purchased in and just stack on a shelf. If you have a long utility drawer, it can slip in there for storage.
Warranty:
Always an important clause to me, is the length of a warranty. The
Cuisinart Quick Prep Hand Blender {CSB33} has an 18 month LIMITED warranty. Keep your receipt and store in safe place. I staple my warranties to the manuals that come with appliances, along with the receipts. The warranty details that the blender will remain free of defect for 18 months under normal use. They will repair or replace. They also give you a physical mailing address. When out of use, make sure to store the blender in its box or laying down, as falling and breaking IS NOT covered. That is considered 'user abuse'.
Makes a nice
gift for:
~new cooks
~wedding gifts
~kitchen showers
~holiday and birthdays
~You. Enjoy. :-)
