The Canon PowerShot A720IS Digital Camera has been a great family camera. I originally was looking for budget friendly easy to use point and shoot camera for a person with no camera experience, and this has done a great job. The camera is lightweight yet not as small as some of the others.

I was a little overwhelmed with all the camera buttons at first; this is definitely one you have to read the manual to get the most out of this product. I have found it to take good pictures both inside and out and it does a decent job taking pictures in the house at night. Some other features of this camera are its exceptional video mode (30fps 640x480 resolution), 6x optical zoom. And nearly all the preset modes have a slow shutter speed, so pictures with motion will quite likely be blurry. However, when you use the flash it takes a long time between pictures. But if you only take one at a time you really don’t notice this problem. It takes 2 AA batteries that seem to dead really fast so I would look into getting rechargeable batteries. You also might want to get a bigger memory card, one comes with it but it only holds a handful of pictures just to get you started.
