The 2001 Audi A4 returns with minimal changes from last years model. The five-speed manual transmission was dropped on the A4 2.8 Front Track model. The standard 1.8L turbocharged engine now produces 170 horsepower. In addition, the oil level indicator is now located in the instrument cluster. The SIDEGUARD airbags and Sport 3-spoke steering wheel are now standard on all models, and the optional Xenon headlights and Navigation system are now available on 2.8L engine models. All A4 models are now available with the ESP (Electronic Stability Program) as an option. The quattro all-wheel-drive system is standard on the Avant wagon. The free scheduled maintenance has been extended to 4-years or 50,000 miles.

Pros: Competitive price, exterior and interior design and build quality, amazing safety features, fun to drive.
Cons: A semi-luxury sedan with a small back seat, poor cupholder placement(passenger), no automatic headlights.
