Horrible online store. Ordered 5 items all showing in stock. Waited a couple of days to check the shipping status. Had a notice on my order that stated I should expect my items to deliver between the 11th and 16th. On the 10th received 1 of the 5 items. No tracking update on the item. On the 12th received the tracking info for the item recieved on the 10th. On the 13th got a notice that 1 of the items has been canceled due to availability. I guess inventory tracking is only as good as the people entering the data. As of a week after placing the order. I still have no idea when the rest of my order will arrive or if it will arrive. You can throw this online store in the garbage.

Everything in the order was messed up. I ordered a skate helmet and the order was "cancelled" (really--then why was it available to order). The down jacket was sent to the wrong address--I called and they had the correct address, but the packaging transposed two numbers so... it was re-sent to a house I lived at 4 years ago that was miles away (and I had to go get it)--where did they even get that address from. I don't know how the other 2 items in the same order are going to be--they haven't arrived yet (still waiting--even though it was all ordered at the same time). The store is great--but the online manager should be canned.

Ordered a Christmas present and website stated that 2 day shipping would guarentee delivery for Christmas (This was on Thursday 12/20/12). It is now Wednesday night (10:06pm EST) and item is STILL not delivered even though it supposedly shipped 2nd day air.. They never shipped until 3:27pm on Friday. I wasted money and my daughters happiness on Dicks incompetitance (an on Saturday when I saw a Wednesday delivery date was promptly answered telling me not to worry and that it would arrive in time). I will never shop Dick's again and would suggest anyone else that needs guarenteed arrival date do likewise.

For over  3 weeks I called, 'chatted', talked to supervisors, TRIED to talk to supervisor, called, called and called agian just to replace a defective backpack. Was promised shipping label to return old one, was promised a new one and got neither. I am frustrated and will never, ever use Dicks again. As one writer said I wish I had seen this site before I ordered. I got bad info from reps, I got disconnected, and I got frustrated.  NEVER AGAIN.

I was Dicks in Woodbury, MN on 9/15/12 at 7pm in the hunting/firearms dept looking for a new rifle. I was standing in line behind a father and his two sons that were being helped choosing a range finder. I know the sales associate saw me because he would glance at me then go back to helping the other folks. Anyways after standing in line for 20 minutes and making his sale of the range finder to the father and two sons he glanced at me saying nothing and walks away. WTF, Really! WTF did he think i was standing there for my own pleasure? Worst service i have ever received in any sporting goods store. I will NEVER shop or go back to the store EVER again and i will tell everyone about my experience. Go to Gander Mountain or Cabelas.

I ordered 3 pairs of shorts and got two. I called them and they said the other was on back order. I ordered it three weeks ago and still haven't got them. The customer service is horrible about it to, and the tracking number doesn't work. I had to return the other two for a different size, and you have to pay to return them, then pay again for shipping and handling. So an extra $15. Thats the price of another pair of shorts. Not a lot of choices like at the stores and expensive.

I went to Dick's because Berkely Fireline was on sale for $12.99, with a rebate of $5. per roll.  They were out of the two sizes I wanted, and refused to give me a rain check. Their explaination was "We don't give rain checks." It would have been understandable if I had bought their entire supply, and wanted more at the sale price, but that wasn't the case. Even allowing two rolls at the sale price would have been acceptable. Why penalize a customer because they did not have adequate inventory? Unfortunately, I'll have to wait for another sale because they're the only place in my area.

ordered softball cleats online...all good charged my card and all...next morning i get an e-mail that order was cancelled with in 1 hr i call and was told i filled out wrong phone# would you like to place the order now on the phone? i said sure then they tell me cleats are not in stock now 1 day later so i order from another site since cleats are not in the local stores...go online 4 hrs later and guess what the cleats are in stock now...call again and this time told something different about the order...they could care less and didnt even try to sooth things over...will never go into a store ever again to give them money

I ordered three items that were said to be in stock, I am overseas and have shipped to APO addresses for years with no issues..EXCEPT when it comes to Dicks Sporting Goods. I received one item, have written several emails to customer service and they cannot get it right. I wish I had read these reviews before ordering. I will never again order from Dicks, this I will guarantee. Each time I email them it is like they never read the email completely. I let them know I received one item and are still missing the other two, their reply references the received item as the received item and no mention of the still missing items.  This is by far the worst on-line ordering experience ever. I spent six years in Iraq in some very remote places and never had any issues, oh well..Never again

If you don't have the actual receipt they will use the lowest price on record and then issue store credit.

I wanted to return an unopened $40 item.  They offered $25 (old price) as store credit.  Dicks!

I ordered an elliptical from the Dicks website. The order sat untouched for two weeks. I contacted customer service and the order status changed to "shipped". Another week and half goes by and I don't hear anything from them. I contacted Dicks customer service again and they tell me that I have to now work with the shipping company. Even though "shipped" is probably nothing more than a status a Dicks employee assigned to my order on their computer. I contacted the shipping company via the website and never got a response. A few days later I called them. They told me someone would be calling me the next business day to schedule the delivery. It's been nearly a week since then and I still haven't heard from them. Still haven't received my elliptical. The worst part is a friend of mine ordered the same elliptical and had the exact same problem. Thinking this is a trend for Dicks. I would highly recommend that no one buy anything from Dicks.

Used Dick's online store on Tues Dec. 20 2011 with a promised "delivered by Dec 23 or you order is free if your order before midnight today and item says it is in stock and if you choose ground shipping  at checkout"  Item was not delivered on time, ...do not trust this site to actually get your items to you when they say, they are just making it all up...my actual delivery date now is Tues Dec. 27th Too LATE for Xmas, order anywhere but from Dick's, if I would have known this I would have ordered from someone else who maybe could have delived on time !!!!

Ordered a youth jersey on Nov. 29th at my local Dick's Sporting Goods (they ordered from online store).  Was supposed to arrive at my house between Dec. 2nd and the 9th.  I checked the tracking number and there was NO shipping information until today (the 9th) as I had checked the last couple of days.  It now says it's supposed to arrive the 13th.  Our Christmas is tomorrow (the 10th).  I called Dick's during my lunch break today and was on hold and transferred 3 times with nobody in customer service.  I called after work and a girl who actually seemed like she cared took probably 45 minutes with me and was on the line with me and the online store.  The online store didn't even ship it out until the 6th.  So it's somewhere in Ohio with UPS now and Luke is going to get a 'picture' of the jersey tomorrow...what every kid wants.

I would highly recommend that EVERYONE check their EXTENSIVE sale exclusions list BEFORE wasting any amount of time on this website. Everything I chose was excluded from the sale...30 minutes of my valuable time sacrificed...I am definitely unsubscribing!!!!! Dicks has a great selection, anything you would want, but it's annoying for them to send an email claiming "20% OFF ENTIRE ORDER" only to find just about everything is excluded. Granted, most companies have SOME exclusions but Dick's is really over the top....just check it out and you will see that their emails should be deleted immediately if you're looking for a sale.

I've been a Dick's Sporting Goods customer at their El Segundo location for about a year now and have had a decent experience until recently.  I bring my tennis rackets in to be restrung.  They told me it would be ready in 4 days.  I checked on the morning of the 5th day at it wasn't ready.  I then checked on the afternoon of the 6th day and it still wasn't ready.  Now I'm tempted to just ask for a refund and take my business somewhere else.  They really displayed a poor level of customer service regarding this issue.  I'll be shopping at a different sporting goods store from now on.

Last week Dick's sent me a email announcing a 20% off sale. Of course there were pages of 'exclusions' but I checked them all out. I wanted to purchase a Golf Cart. The manufacturers name did not appear on the list so I started the order but the 20% off did not appear. I called Customer Service (?) and explained my issue and was put on hold for 10 minutes. When he returned I was told that the Golf Cart was classified as a "Hauling Rack" and excluded from the sale. Of course hauling racks were on the exclusions listing but c'mon anyone who plays golf knows that a golf cart is not a hauling rack. They screwed up on the listing and when I challenged them on it they did not honor the 20% off. Be Careful when ordering online with Dick's.

My advice is do not purchase eGift Certificates from Dicks. My 6 year old grandson needed pads for his first day of football practice and they live 100 miles away. So I thought I was helping by getting them a eGift Certificate and having it emailed like every other company does. Instead my grandson doesn't have pads for football because Dick's Customer Service FAILED to tell me they were only able to be used for ONLINE PURCHASES.

Having called Customer NO Service I was told its on their website and that is their policy. When I explained I purchase via phone from their staff I was told sorry but they are sure I must have been told.

This used to be a company I HAD respect for...

WILL NEVER buy from Dicks again! nightmare experience. They make it so difficult to buy something. Tried to buy a treadmill for weeks and you get a different answer from everyone on when it will be in!! they are the worst store I have every delt with. Pay extra and buy somewhere else. It's not worth it.
