Very poor service. I ordered coffee brewer and one decanter. I got order comfirmation and credit card had been charged, but they emailed me two days later that the coffee brewer was discountinued, as a result, I had to cancel my order. And in the same time, I got another email that they shipped out the decanter. What can I do with decanter when I dont get my brewer? So I called, they said just refuse package, and no shipping charge on me, I did. Now, after almost two months, they still dont refund me about $24, they said it's shipping fee for the $8 decanter. Crap, I will never order from them again.

would not use!. they told me would be here in 1 week but 3 1/2 weeks later finally arrived. their vendors shipping dept kept setting up appointments to deliver and would never show. had to take 3 half days off work. finally delivered dented merchandise. cancelled my order

When something went wrong, Katom was not there to help.
The meat slicer I ordered arrive damaged, more than superficially. Since it was drop shipped from the manufacturer, either the manufacturer or the carrier was initially responsible.
However, the extent of Katom's help was to pass me off to a local service company who has also been unresponsive. Katom also told me to work with the manufacturer but provided no contact information for them!
My overall impression is that Katom is a middleman company who is all too happy to collect money and forward orders, but does not take responsibility for its customer's satisfaction.
I was very disappointed with Katom

PRODUCT: Merchandise had a "Molding Mark" meaning that all three pieces ordered had the same exact mar in the same exact place. We called Carlisle Food Service Products to let them know. The mar does not affect the performance of the unit. Strictly cosmetic.
KATOM: Has always come through for us. They have a wide selection, usually ships on time and the proper merchandise. Will buy from again

great shopping experience. my ice maker went down and so i had to act quick as i am in texas and it is still hot here. katom got my replacement commercial ice maker out the same day and i am thrilled. i upgraded to the new manitowoc and am thrilled with my new unit.

Advertises products that are not in stock. It is very frustrating to fill out your credit information, shipping information etc then receive an email stating that the product you ordered will not be in stock for over 2 months, "how do you want to proceed?" KaTom needs better in house tracking and keep current on their site so as not to offer products they dont have.

Sink was delivered damaged. Never was provided a tracking number for either item. If I had not called about the dishwasher, 3 weeks after purchase, it would still be sitting on the delivery dock.

This was the 2nd time I tried to order this item. The first time I ordered, they just didn't send it. Sent me a confirmation email , but never charged my card and never sent it. 2 months later, I tried again.
This time I actually received a voicemail telling me they don't have it in stock, but they can get it sent from manufacturer but it will cost me an extra $2.50 for shipping. I called back to confirm and the sales rep I talked to did not know what the voicemail referred to. She said the part will be in stock in a couple days and they will send it, no extra charge.
So they ended up sending me TWO!!! First time NONE, 2nd attempt, I get TWO.
Get your organization together and figure out how to send out orders correctly before you lose all your customers.

I have never had so much trouble with an internet order as I have experienced with KaTom. I ordered four cast-iron Staub cocottes -- with nothing on KaTom's website or email invoice showing that three out of four would need to be back-ordered.

great company - i always buy all my larger restaurant equipment purchases from katom. i used to call in and talk to birdie but now i usually just place my order online because i know they will take care of me, whether i place my order online or over the phone. my last purchase was a commercial refrigerator and it went seamless and arrived as expected. thanks katom!

Sadly I cancelled the order because I was under the impression that it was in stock and it was back ordered until July 2011. I did have excellent customer service and no hassle when I cancelled my order. I would definately do business with them again

I ordered 2 pieces of Lodge Enamal cookware 3 weeks ago. Even though the catalog said they'd ship in 1-2 days, I was notified that it'd take 10-14 days to recieve product from manufacturer. I haven't hear a word since.

I placed my order and almost a week later they emailed me to tell me my order would be backordered until the middle of July. I cancelled my order with Katom, placed my order with ChefsCatalog.com and received my order this morning.
Because it took so long for them to tell me about backordering the product I missed out on another opportunity. It shouldn't take more than a day to let customers know they don't have it in stock. And if a company has it backordered for 3-1/2 months, take it off your damned site!

both shopping attempts resulted in back orders and because the product was needed sooner I did not order. The customer care reponses were excellant and I did not wait to hear from them. They responded by email and cancelled the order quickly and confirmed immediately. Too bad kitchenaid isn't as good at supplying product to their retailers.
