Easy returns???  Can bill your credit card in less than a minute, but takes 3 to 4 weeks to credit it???  Are you kidding me.  If there is any chance you might return an item (size, color, whatever) do not shop at Altrec.

Where to begin...

I purchased a CHISTMAS gift for my boyfriend in December and my gift was supposed to have arrived early January. It is now February 15th and I have not received my order. After 10 calls to the company, I found out that someone had input my EMAIL address as my SHIPPING address and the item was sent back to Altrec after the postal service could not deliver it. I was never notified of this error until I badgered customer service about my order when I realized it had been 2 weeks past the supposed delivery date.

As I write this review, I am on the phone yet again with customer service and the rep cannot find my order, and doesnt think it was sent out. Whats the most terrible part of my experience is that my boyfriend never got his christmas jackets that he needs for East coast snow.

I urge you to avoid this company. That cheap price tag comes at a cost: the cost of NOT receiving your gift. Id rather donate my money to the ASPCA if that is the case.

ordered a wheeled backpack.  it was delayed.  when i called to inquire they assured us that all is on track, "it just takes a little bit of extra time to ship, but will arrive by the last day specified in the delivery window." they repeated this on two different phone calls.  then on the last day (12 days after the order) they emailed us to say that the product is not available. This prevented us from ordering elsewhere on time before our travel.  Not even an apology.  Liars on top of being incompetent.

Great products but incredibly lame customer service; glitches on the website, sent a gift card without my authorization, charged my card without notifying me; made it seem like my problem, not theirs, after they admitted to "glitches" on the website. I spent 3+ hours trying really hard to spend money on their site, and another hour cleaning up the mess with customer service.

I've bought only two things through Altrec and those will be my last purchases. Each one was very SLOW to arrive and delivery dates changed on both products. Weeks went by and I finally called only to find out that it had "arrived" in their warehouse, but just wasn't processed in order to go out. LAME. There are so many other sites that are better and quicker in delivering goods. Call for improvement!!!

I have to agree with others when it comes to Altrec's "return policy". It's lousy compared to many other online retailers these days. When selling shoes and apparel, alternative online retailers have learned what many local retailers already know, which is that sizing is not always consistent, so many now offer free return shipping. Altrec is in Oregon, and maintains that their customers must pay for return shipping. I bought a pair of shoes that did not fit, but to return them would cost me $15.00, becuase I live on the east coast. They lost me as a future customer and I would not reccommend them either. Their are plenty of online retailers offering the same products, with much more accommodating shopping/exchange and return policies.

Only great products with great service here. Once you talk to anyone online or on the phone, they really want to help you. They know you are calling because there was a issue and they will take it from there. Now these guys don't make the shoe so can't give them credit or blame. I have bought two times and it was at great price ( on one pair it was $5 bucks more than amazon or zappos) but guess what ? I had a problem with the shoe after 8 months and no questions asked -- return !

So here is my rooster : Apple , Costco, Oakley and Altrec.

I contacted Altrec to see if the paddle extenders fit on Carlisle kayak paddles.  I was assured that they did fit Carlisle kayak paddles so I ordered two.

The do NOT fit Carlisle kayak paddles.

Since Altrec misrepresented this product to me I thought they should be willing to pay for the return shipping costs.

They will NOT cover return shipping costs.

With this same order they shipped me a defective Carlisle kayak paddle.  I can fix the paddle, but I will not deal with Altrec again and would advise others to not deal with them either.

I have shopped at Altrec twice and will never give them my business again. Altrec's customer service is the worst I have dealt with in years. I had to return an item and it took EIGHT weeks to get the credit on my credit card. I called, chatted on their website and emailed. No Cusotmer Service at all at Altrec.

These guys rock! Their customer service reps KNOW CUSTOMER SERVICE. I've dealt with them on Ebay and also their online store. Bri, Theresa, Patrick, ALL SPEAK ENGLISH! LOL. No but seriosuly, that's a big thing. They are not robots, they are humans who want to make you happy. I dropped an amazon order to shop 100% with them and spent $60 over!

You pay for your own returns and they take over two weeks to even process.  There are lots of online stores that are just as affordable and do not require you to pay for the shipping on returns and process extremely fast.  I frequently shop onlilne but will not use this store ever again because of their return policy.  I had almost 200 dollars sitting in limbo for almost 3 weeks and I had to pay for the shipping and insurance to send it back to them.

Just just had a great experience with a live chat representative named Patrick L. I placed an order online but forgot to put the coupon code that I received in an email. Patrick helped me out with this. Process was quick, easy and painless. He adjusted my total and credited my account with the 10% for the coupon. Now that's awesome customer service! Altrec is always a great shopping experience. I've shopped online with them many times and will continue to do so. Thank you for your great service!

Awesome products, prices, service, fast free shipping too!  Have bought from many times and will do so again.

Just placed an order that I had to cancel.  No problem with the online chat service.  Taken care of in like 2 minutes.

I needed some help in placing an order. I contacted Altrec via their "on-line live chat". Jennifer C. assisted me. Jennifer handled my purchase including my available discount. Jennifer was very helpful, courteous and friendly during our "conversation". Altrec has great products, prices, shipping and very nice customer service representatives! I couldn't be more pleased. I wish I would have read these reveiws before ordering anything from Altrec. They made a mistake and sent me the wrong color jacket and then it was like pulling teeth to get them to send me a prepaid shipping label. They actually tried to make me pay to send the Ugg boots I was also returning with the jacket (both were sent to me in the same box. i would have had to find a new box and send the Uggs back separately just to save them a few bucks??!) The prepaid shipping took 7 days to arrive and now I have to wait for a refund to post to my checking account. Since I no longer have any trust in the team (who were all very rude to me over the phone) I will be watching them like a hawk until I get my full refund. I will NEVER shop with this company again.

I was excited to order an item at a great price, and completed the transaction.  I even got a confirmation number.  I waited for a shipping confirmation the next day when I was supposed to get one, but it never arrived.  Eventually, I received an email telling me they cancelled the order because they did not have it in stock, even though they said they did on their website.  They offered me a 20% discount, which ended up being less than the original discount on the item.  I contacted the store about getting the same item, just a different color, at the original price I had agreed to pay, and they refused, and again offered only a 20% discount.   At that point, pretty much everything on their site was available for a 20% discount.  Useless.

Received an email from them saying that my order would include free shipping over $45, however after filling my cart and trying to check out I was not offered free shipping.  Sending great deals by email is great, but only when the company sticks by what they are selling.  Called them and they wanted to see my email, like I was a complete liar, and stated that free shipping was over a much larger amount.  Makes you wonder about their so called "deals"

My experience was great and super fast.This may be helpful. You can avoid the wait and speak directly to a sales rep by dialing 866-945-8263. So much easier talking directly with a knowledgeable person regarding my order.

Altrec provides a 20% off coupon for regular priced items for those who wrote a review on the gears they bought. How hard can it be to write a review? So I wrote it and use the coupon if I need. If you buy some cheap stuff and apply that 20% off coupon then the transaction will go through. Recently me and my firends we consolidate our purchasing lists and go for some expensive gears and apply the 20% off coupon. Guess what happed? Surprisingly this company blocked and canceled the transaction without any reason. This is what they call 100% satification guarantee. My words to Altrec: If you can not afford to play the game, don't set the rules. 20% off is not a big deal at all, some other dealers always have at least 25% off to their loyal customers. Buy from them if you want to get insulted and disrespected. This is so far the worst on-line purchasing experience I have ever had in my entire life.

Bought two pairs of the same short in the same size...one pair fit perfectly while the other was not close to the right size, even though it was labeled properly on the clthes themselves. Makes me think they are selling defects. 
The pair of shorts that fit was were made in Bangladesh while the ones that did not were made in Taiwan. To pairs from two different countries...I have no idea where they are getting their inventory from but the sizes of their items are not consistent in anyway.

I wish I would have read all these Altrec negative reviews before I attempted to purchase a stroller from this company. Every single thing written about their terrible customer service is true. 
The item I tried to order turned into a differnt item when I put it in my shopping cart. After contacting them, I was told that the advertised item was not available for the price on the website. They refused to honor the price for the item that they listed. 
Altrec does not go out of their way to right their own mistakes. Stay far away! I do not recommend this company at all. I am shocked they can get away with false advertising and treating a potential customer like dirt.

Altrec.com had the best price for a specific North Face jacket that I was seeking.  Their website was easy to use.  They promised delivery within a week but the package actually arrived in two days.  The product was as-described and the correct size and color.

I placed an order with Altrec.com on Saturday, December 18 after seeing their website banners guaranteeing delivery by Christmas. I was told that two of the items would make it by Christmas but the 3rd would not. Fine, I only needed the first two items for Christmas day anyway. Yesterday on the 23rd I get two emails... one said the third item would be delivered on the 24th and the other said that I would receive the first two items on DECEMBER 28th!! Not hardly in time for Christmas like I was told! Their customer service person blamed FedX for the back up then me for ordering so close to Christmas. If they don't want orders made for Christmas then don't advertise delivery in time for Christmas!! They may have great prices but they need to back up their promises of delivery. They did not even ship the items until Tuesday, December 21.
