Selection was good, product was good but delivery was very problematic. I had ordered a Mother's Day gift for my mother well in advance of the deadline for guaranteed delivery. Several days before Mother's Day, I went online to check the order status and it said "shipping soon.". Of course I called customer service and I was assured that the product would arrive on time for Mother's Day. I called several other times as well and on the Friday before Mother's Day, after I checked online and it said "shipping soon," I called again and again was assured it would be shopped overnight and would arrive on Saturday. Friday night at 11pm, I finally receive an e-mail stating that the online item had shipped and was provided with a tracking number. After I tracked the package, I discovered that it would not arrive until Monday (the day AFTER Mothet's Day). I was not pleased.

The key issue is that Williams-Sonoma charges a "handling fee" which should be built into their pricing. I understand that shipping is now very costly and most sites that offer free shipping just add the shipping to their prices, most even add a return fee to every item in their price.
But the handling fee is out of bounds, that would be like going to a store and having them charge you extra to ring up your sale, or charge you a fee for paying cash or with a credit card, maybe they should charge you for a bag also.
Really annoying that a $100 purchase that I made had $25.47 in taxes and "handling fees".

Slow delivery, poor customer service. I ordered 16 place settings of the Alpico Tradition dinnerware. The items were not indicated as being on backorder. Two weeks later, I received an email explaining that they were on back order and that I could cancel my order. I chose not to cancel as I thought that it would not be much longer. Another week and a half after that I received everything, but in the mean time the items went on a 20% off sale. Customer service would not refund a difference, which I felt was poor quality service, as I was willing to pay for them initially, but that was assuming I wouldn't have to wait three weeks to get the items. I would have waited for them to go on sale if I had not wanted them within the initial week. All I got was excuses about the economy and how they weren't expecting the demand blah, blah, blah. I will never buy from Williams and Sonoma again. I do a lot of online shopping from higher end retailers and have never been treated like this.

High-end home stores like Williams-Sonoma are normally far too intimidating (and pricey) for me, but the beauty of online shopping is that the Internet is the great equalizer – we are all alike when browsing cake pans at 11:00 pm in our jammies.

I've read a lot of reviews of Williams-Sonoma suggesting that the reason that their goods are overpriced is because they have higher quality stuff. This was not the case with my recent Williams-Sonoma purchase; the exact same model of KitchenAid mixer was about 15-20% more expensive than I could've gotten it elsewhere (unfortunately, I had a gift card which I needed to use). What's more, KitchenAid actually offered a rebate for this mixer of $30. However, it was not valid at Williams-Sonoma, who instead offered a $30 Williams-Sonoma gift card. So, effectively, the product was $30 more expensive that it needed to be to subsidize the cost of a gift card I didn't even want (and so the vicious cycle continues...)! In summary, I would avoid this retailer; you can find much better prices elsewhere.

I am a savvy online shopper and always look for good customer service. I purchased a waffle baker around Christmas. When it came it was defective. I wanted to return it, which was no problem, except they would not refund my 16.95 original shipping AND I had to pay to return it for a credit. Williams-Sonoma has now been crossed off my list of online stores to buy from. Please seriously consider their return policy before ordering. They claim 100% customer satisfaction. That is a joke! Never again

I have had nothing but great experience with W/S online. I purchase items for myself, plus I use the gift registry service so friends and family can buy gifts I need and want with ease.
Delivery is always reasonable, and returns - when necessary - are a breeze at my local 'brick and mortar' W/S store.

I enjoyed an easy transaction would great results. I placed my order through the website, and within 2-3 days, my packaged arrived. They were a set of glasses and they could not have been packed better! including the box the glasses were originally packed in, the package was triple boxed with lots of padding and and packing peanuts. Nothing to complain about here!

I was looking for a replacement part for my Williams Sonoma bread machine. I bought the item at a clearance store so no warranty was involved, but the quality of the service on line was dreadful. The operator first told me that the company did not make this item, then told me I would have to order a new one, then that they could not ship to Canada. It seems I will have to buy another bread machine, but it won't be a Williams Sonoma!

Beware of Williams Sonoma On-line. Impossible returns and terrible customer service.
I received a gift purchased on-line from Williams Sonoma. I returned the product to a Williams Sonoma Store. I was given a poor carbon copy receipt and they couldn't tell me my credit.
Every time I called customer service I have received terrible service. Multiple calls to the customer service department were always met with confusion on their end. Even when I was given the extension of an individual rep, I could never get her on the phone again.
After about 4 months, i finally go my refund. Avoid Williams Sonoma Online as it is not worth the effort.
