Purchased two small electric heaters and they were both defective; the screw holes where the legs attach on bottom of one heater were in the wrong place; the other heater arrived with screen laying loose inside the heater along with loose parts.   These heaters state  online "cool to the touch" however, one of the first things the manual states is that the heater gets hot do not allow around children.  I also purchased an electric fireplace heater and it arrive with parts missing.  Because the heaters were too heavy for me to pick up , and Plow & Hearth could not guarantee a day UPS would pick up, I had to hire my neighbor to take them to UPS to ship back.  $450.00 on junk heaters that I had to take time to repack and carry to UPS and wait three weeks for a refund.   Very disappointed and the quality was very poor.

On Dec 2, I ordered an electric stove. On Dec 20 I checked the status of the order online and it said it was CANCELLED. I RECEIVED NO EMAIL FROM THEM ON THE CANCELLATION. I emailed them back and tried to call twice (over twenty minute waits) but no luck and no answer. I've ordered hundreds of products over the internet and this is the WORST SERVICE/EXPERIENCE I'VE EVER HAD.

Plow and Hearth is a terrible company to do business with.  I will NEVER place an order with them again.  On 12-9-2009 plow and hearth placed my order twice and double shipped and double billed for the merchandise.  Today is now 12-21-2009 and they are STILL refusing to refund my order that THEY double shipped.  I have called on the 9th, the 14th, and the 21st.  Each person has promised me a supervisor or a specialist will contact me in 24 hours...no one has returned my phone calls or called me about my order.  I WANT MY MONEY BACK AND I WILL NEVER, NEVER PLACE AN ORDER WITH PLOW AND HEARTH AGAIN!!!!!!!!!  BUYER BEWARE THIS IS A TERRIBLE COMPANY TO DO BUSINESS WITH!

I received the items I ordered from Plow&Hearth yesterday and could not be more satisfied. The care that they took in packaging the products (willow edging-so fragile) was exemplary. The products met my expectations in quality and I was able to buy them at a great price! I recommend Plow&Hearth to everyone looking for quality garden products and will order from them in the future.

I purchased the Montebello arbor with gate from Plow & Hearth. It arrived in perfect shape so fast, I was surprised when it arrived. It was so easy to assemble and I love looking out at it every day. The store was very prompt in shipping. I was very impressed with the packaging, too.

This is the first time that I have bought anything from P&E and will probably be the last. I bought a set of panels and was disappointed with the quality. The surface of the panels has some whitish thing on it- like the paint has come off.

Placed an order with them, received my order confirmation with order #, 2 days later received cancellation notice with some lame excuse about an "error" on their website that caused them to accept more orders than they had inventory. However, when I checked Amazon.com later, they still had the same product in stock, but for a much higher price.

The early November ordered item arrived on time, HOWEVER, the item was defective. A phone call brought a response that "we will send you a return shipping label". Two more weeks and three phone calls later we got the label. The item was shipped back with a request for another similar item in a different size. "It'll be there by December 18th" was the response to a December 15th phone inquiry.

Late December "We'll be sure it's there in a few days!.

January 12, 2007 "Expect it UPS this Monday".

I ordered from the online store on Dec 12th. Multiple calls and emails assured me that the status of my order was find - it just wasn't updated online. Dec 18th I received email from Plow and Hearth offering free shipping upgrade to guarantee Christmas delivery. I called and was again assured not necessary.

I received email on the 20th telling me it was shipped and would arrive on the 26h. I called and the very first thing I was told was that I can't cancel once it is shipped.

More disappointing than the late ship is the deliberate misinformation I received from customer service.

The goods came on the 26th and were just what I wanted. In the future I would not use them again, even non holiday.

I can't say enough good things about this company. Call them on the phone, and you get a friendly voice with real Southern hospitality. The Web site is the same...it's easy to navigate, and contains a LOT of great information...great recipes, great hints for outdoor living and gardening. And the products are top notch--I've purchased prints, blinds, kitchen accessories, and furniture from them, and the quality is the best that's out there. My only regret is that I didn't get in on their upholstered sofa before it went out of stock--but hopefully it'll be back soon. Highly recommended!

Long story short...I placed my order on 12/2. By 12/12 I had not received a delivery notification and their website said my order was still being "processed". I called and was told by Paul "the floor supervisor" that if I had "coughed up more money for shipping it would have been there on time". It is now 18 days post order, no delivery has arrived. Plow and Hearth has refused to refund my card until I wait for the package to arrive (HA! their website STILL says it is in their warehouse) and return it at MY EXPENSE! Five days before Christmas and I'm filing complaints with the BBB and filing papers with my bank to have the charges reversed. Plow and Hearth's customer service employees and practices are a joke.
