Will never shop at this site again. I purchased a lamp that didn't work out and spent more money shipping the lamp back and was told I would be refunded "less the amount of (original) shipping". In all, I ended up spending over $120 for nothing but shipping. Terrible return policy.

They had a good price so I ordered, but regret it for the few dollars of savings. They delivered the wrong package, then sent the right one but the return of the mirror when we ordered a lamp was a total mess. 5 emails and calls later and this huge mirror box is still sitting in my living room unresolved. A total pain and never had this another other Internet company.

Lighting Direct is a scam. They do not actually stock the products or have the capability to actually ship products as advertised. We will never use this company or any of their associated companies again. A total waste of time and resources.
It seems anyone can promise whatever they want online, fake reviews, and keep up a front for a scam. You always want to believe companies are honest and really want to provide what they promise but for some reason that has become too much to ask for when purchasing products online.

"I placed an order from lighting direct for lighting fixtured from Meyda Tiffany on 9/17/2011. Order total $288.00. I had a delivery date set in early October 2011, they pushed it out until November 2011, December 2011, two dates in January and now February 22, 2012. When I have called both companies they blame it on each other and at times, the Chinese company Meyda out sourses to. I have complained and gotten the run around. But, today Jessie(very professional) at Lightng direct has assured me she will e-mail me on Monday 2/13/2012 with a resolution. Lets see what happends! To Medya Tiffany, I do business with China too, pay your bill to then so they will ship my order, you have my money!!"

I ordered 7 deck lights and a porch light from this outfit. It took over 3 weeks to get the lights which then arrived without lightbulbs (which are supposed to come with them).
I called their customer service, which placed an order with the vendor (nothing in our order came from Lighting Direct.com). The lightbulbs arrived today and I received 1 deck lightbulb and a huge porch lightbulb which will not fit the fixture.
I would never, ever, ever, never order from this place again. Go elsewhere - you'll be happier.

Ordered a light expidited shipping that was "in stock". Inventory was wrong, they don't stock any lights, all drop shipped. Got an email that they were going to ship in 5 weeks. I called to cancel. After a long hold time I was told it would be cancelled within the next 24 hours.
24 hours later, no credit, still showed "sent to warehouse" on status.
Called back to customer service. Rude lady handled the call said it took up to 48 hours. I told her it could be reversed instantly if they charged instantly, she made a call and said I would have an email in the next few minutes showing the cancellation. Still no email. May have to have credit card company contest the charge as fraud since getting a refund is practically impossible with these guys, even if they don't have the product and haven't shipped it.
STAY AWAY!!

LightingDirect offered product I needed at the best price I could find on the internet. Maybe they should change their name to "Lightning Direct" since they were very fast on delivery. Product shipped the same day as ordered. Product arrived packaged well and correctly matched advertised description. I can not think of anything they could have done better ... excellent company that I would not hesitate to do business with again.

Did not get the product I ordered. Lights where green instead of white. Asked fit he right lights to be sent and I was sent an email from the manufacturer which said all of their lights where tinted green in error. Not my problem. I got the wrong lights and I need resolution. Emailed customer service two and received no response. I will give them a day or two and then file a fraud claim with my CC company.

Ordered three exterior lights --- being careful to order ones that were in stock. Lights arrived in approximately four days, with plenty of emails about the order status and online package tracking. One light arrived with a socket that was slightly bent and would not accept a bulb. I was careful to save the original packing material, and installed the other two lights to make sure they were OK, and then phoned LightingDirect.com and asked about getting a replacement. The representative was very helpful, and a replacement light is on its way.

Appealing concept and site. However, they apparently have an ongoing problem referred to in several other reviews: their "In Stock" information is totally unrealiable. I ordered 8 fixtures and their data showed they had 195 in stock. 12 days later, about the time I expected delivery, they emailed me that my order would be shipped in TWO MONTHS!! The agent I spoke with apologized explaining that "their stock data really doesn't update"!!! Furthermore, I posted this same comment in their customer review section. Guess what, my review was never posted. Now, several weeks later I get my credit card bill and find a $560 charge for the lights that I wont see for another 60 days!! On top of that, some young lady in southern California tried to explain that charging for items that wouldn't even ship for 2 months "was not at all unusual". Maybe in her small world, but not in mine. I am through with these folks; beware. I suggest you try LightingUniverse.

Be warned - do not use Lighting Direct!! I have had a teriible time with them after ordering a light fitting after seeing it on 60 Minute Makeover. I can't believe the makers of the show would use such a cowboy company. My light was ordered on 19 May and by 22 August it still has not arrived nor have I received a refund. The excuses have been coming thick and fast, from the wrong colour being in stock to a company restructure taking place. Although I have telephoned and e-mailed, I am now being ignored. I am £114 out of pocket and still without the product. Never again

Do not use this company. They took my money and never delivered the goods. After a month of waiting for the goods and regular prompting phone calls I demanded to know why they had not sent them to me. They claimed that the manufacturer was unable to make the delivery, I spoke to manufacturer directly and they said there was no problem with supply but would not say what the problem was except that it was not their end, the manufacturer was very happy to recommended another online shop. I was promised my money back but 2 weeks later I am still waiting, they claim that it will take at least another 5-7 days to credit my card something that normally takes a day. I am starting legal proceedings against them as they appear to have no intention of refunding the money.

Overall I'm quite satisfied. The lights were well priced, easy to order, and came on time. I had to call customer service to replace a defective light and had no problems. I didn't even have to wait on hold.
The one annoyance I found is that the website indicates items as in stock when they are actually on backorder. Even after this was pointed out, the "in stock" designation was never updated.

If you are considering placing an order with this company,,,DONT, they make promises that are about as usefull as trying to store water in a colander. Save your time, money & frustration and shop elsewhere.

Ordered two mirrors from these folks. After waiting almost two weeks for delivery, I contacted customer support. Every time I called them I got a different answer, "It was not shipped, we'll check and call you back, It was shipped today" Etc. I emailed them asking for a tracking number since they now told me it was shipped several days ago, they never replied. They finally sent me an email stating the item will be shipped in 3 months! I cancelled the order since I was getting fed up with the constant runaround. I'll keep checking my credit card to see if they charged my account/gave me a refund. Hard to believe they are in good standing with the BBB.

When what I ordered was not readily available, I cancelled the order prior to its being shipped. But not only was it shipped anyhow, they shipped me two of the item Lighting Direct admitted they had made a mistake and would pay for the return. Again, they did it in twos, first FedEx then UPS arrived to pick up the items. I tracked the return and provided Lighting Direct with return data. They promised a refund but here I am two weeks later without a refund being sent to my credit card. I am familiar with the speed of electronic signals (the speed of light but not Lighting Direct). Throughout the ordeal, every agent has been totally agreeable but at the same time totally incompetent.

I bought two separate pendant lights from them at very good prices. Shipping time was prompt. However, when I found it necessary to return an item, it took nearly a month to get my refund after they received the item I sent. That is unacceptable. How long does it take to electronically issue money back to Pay Pal??? Apparently too long. I'd recommend you buy from them but be sure of your purchase!
