I placed online order for an item that was on promotion 3 weeks ago.
Yesterday they send me e-mail that my order was cancelled.
I spent 30 minutes on the phone with them today and the best they could offer me for a comperable item was 10%, that would be DOUBLE the price that was on the comperable item that they say they will not get anymore.
Now I will think twice before I buy something online from homedepot.com.

Find a real business-- this is a screwed up operation, with no desire to meet their customers' needs
placed an order and was told it shipped. never arrived here in TX. Got a call from Ohio, my order was shipped to another person with the same name, even though the shipping info from HD was correct. Called HD, told them parts were needed for a job, they refused to reship without charging for a second order! they offered to ship some parts overnight-after taking 3-4 days to process the order again!
Parts were needed to meet a customer committment. canceled order after waiting nearly two weeks!

Quite honestly the worst online buying experience ever. Highly suggest you save yourself the stress and do not use Home Depot online. I purchased a closet organizer which UPS lost in transit. Home Depot and UPS did not inform me of the issue I had to call each vendor twice to notify them. I was told immediately that I would get a refund and it would take 4-7 business days to process. The refund still hasn't occured after a month. The customer service agents do not seem to know their process as every time I call to follow up I get a different story. I still haven't received my refund after a month and have now been told it will come in 3 weeks.
Horrible experience... go elsewhere... anyplace else.

"I had an AWESOME experience. I actually ended up ordering a solar panel where the voltage was too high for my needs. It was my error, not theirs. They let me return it though anyway (to a local score) and helped me order the right one. I have ordered from them before and have thus far had nothing but very positive experiences. I ordered a gas oven online. I chose HD because they could deliver and install on only two days notice. Sears and Lowe's needed six days. The guy comes today to deliver the oven. He says I need ANOTHER appointment to get someone to come and INSTALL it!!! I already paid $144 for INSTALLATION and scheduled DELIVER AND INSTALL for today. No notice, nothing but LIES from Home Depot - they will take six days just like the others, the difference is HD LIES and doesn't tell you the whole story until the delivery guy shows up.

The material was not delivered as ordered, it should have been boxed with 5 tiles per box for 17 boxes at 79.90 a box. The limestone tiles were shipped on a pallet unboxed without anything inbetween the tiles. 27 broken out of 85 tiles were broken. Home Depot has made me wait(over 2 weeks now) for the shipping company ESTES to contact me to retrieve the material before I can get a credit. Nothing so far, I had to file a dispute with cc company in hopes of getting a credit. I did business with HOME DEPOT not ESTES. This is very poor on their part, I had to order replacement tiles and pay for them or lose the tile guy in mid-job. The replacement tiles were delivered in 2 ordered of 3 boxes each that were properly boxed and delivered undamaged by UPS.

I ordered a live Christmas tree which came with a one inch crack up the trunk about 4 feet and tree was dying. They will not replace unless you figure out how to get a 9 ft tree into a box that disintegrated when they shipped, wait two weeks until after they receive for them to send a replacement which would put us past about new years. there email responses are robotic and scripted - they simply shouldn't sell something as time sensitive as Christmas trees if they cant provide good customer service. I am out $200 and have to go buy another tree. wont shop home depot again

I've always used Amazon, or others online, and had my order in 3 to 5 days.
I thought I'd give Home Depot a try. They instantly acknowledged my order, and said it was in " routing". This message remained the same for the next 6 days. A call to customer service was a waste of time. She seemed to be reading from a scripted list of excuses as to the problem. Finally after 7 days, I received a tracking number that was assigned to my order, but that's all that changed for the next 4 days. No pick up, no in route, nothing. 11 days later , I checked and they said to expect deliver in 10 working days. Seriously!. This is a small item that will fit in my mailbox, and now 2 1/2 weeks later, I'm still waiting. Unfortunately for them, I am a property manager, and use both Home Depot and Lowes frequently, locally, but after this, I'm off to Lowes.
A shame after 30 years, but in this day and age, customer service is essential to getting and keeping customers, and Home Depot, evidently doesn't recognize this.

Horrible customer service - Since I didn't deal with a person only my computer I had no one to call for help. All I needed to do was change a phone number so the delivery company could call me before they arrived. I eventually placed 3 phone calls, wasted 2 hours of my life on hold with the worst message repeating over and over and spoke with 3 different people and even though all assured me thephone number had been changed I almost missed the delivery because they didn't change the number - I only wish now that I had missed the delivery so I could have cancelled the order and went to a local appliance store - I won't make this same mistake in the future.

It is absolute crap. Web site says 39 items in stock, then they drop ship??? Shipment goes to Trenton MI by UPS then where? Some no-name shipping service in Canada. I could have walked to Buffalo and back and got what I wanted. Will never order online from them again. They are the Canadian Tire of online hardware.

I order online nearly every week. Including 3 cameras in the last year, I placed my order with Home Depot for the first time and ordered some Dummy Security Cameras. Im not upset with the product, but I am taken back that my 20 dollar purchase requires a signature. Now I must pick up my merchandise by driving to the nearest UPS location. To make matters worse I was not informed of this policy until after I had placed the order. Also when I received my shipping confirmation they directed me to Fed Ex tracking when UPS was the shipper. I don't understand how is it that huge companies like Newegg, BH Photo, and Amazon can ship really expensive items but Home Depot cant. I think the problem comes out of the corporate office. Where the lawyers and men in black make up the policy. Keep it up guys soon you will go the way of the Roman Empire in flames. Yeah I know you probably dont think thats possible neither did they.

On june 8, 2011 I ordered 2 coast led lenser P14 flashlight which their system says on-stock. I phoned their hotline on June 12 to find out the status of my order & was told that I should receive shipping alert in 48 hours. Two days later no email from them so I phoned them up again on June 14 to inquire. Again I was told that the item is ready for shipping & should receive an email on shipping details in 24 hrs. Until today I havent received any shipping info so I phoned up their hotline and found nothing has been done yet....I'm so frustrated and totally overwhelm by home depot's poor customer service and unprofessionalism. The lady told me that she'll make an inquiry and I should have an update in 48hrs......Will see.

Recently purchase a 34" Ariens walk behind move from Homedepot.com. Great experience. They also accepted a 10% off in-store only coupon. Free delivery ... to a local Ariens dealer, who assembled, tested and then delivered the machine to my home. Total time from order to my garage... 5 days. Can't ask for much better service. Should also note that the purchase price, before coupon was $200 less then I could find any where else... online or in any store.

very bad customer service!
I ordered a shed a month ago, I recieved it late, spent 2 hours putting it together to find the last roof piece was incorrect. Now I paid 100 dollars for delivery because I have no truck.
To resolve they made me purchase a second one and I would only be reimbursed for the 1st one after they picked it up 9 which would be scheduled ina few days).
2.5 weeks later.... tghe new shed has arrived, but still noone has picked up or called about picking up the old one.
Every time we call they give a different story... oh its in transit, oh we are calling later today to schedule, UPs has it. HELLO? it has been sitting here for WEEKS and no phone calls , NOTHING! They lie to me each time i talk to them. I am about torent a truck and drive it to the damn store so I can be reimbursed.
Just horrible, I can't believe they would operate this way.

I strongly urge you to NOT purchase from Home Depot online. I ordered eight light fixtures. One of the lights was damaged in transit so UPS did not deliver it but instead returned it to Home Depot. I have been trying now for 24 days to receive a credit for this item I never received. Every time I contact them I am told I the credit will be issued in 5-7 business days. I'm still waiting. I will update this if I ever receive the credit. Update: April 13. Finally received the credit for the merchandise I never recieved.
