I ordered a portable GoldTouch keyboard from CompuVest. It arrived. The left control key, which I use extensively on other keyboards, didn't work. I requested an exchange. CompuVest informed me that not only did I have to pay return shipping for *their* defective product, but if they weren't able to recreate the problem, I'd also have to pay restocking and additional shipping. Forget that. I kept the keyboard with the broken key, but will never order from CompuVest again.

"Scum!! I ordered a usb tv tuner from these guys. It was supposed to be new but definitely was not -- pre-opened plastic bags, water-stained, documentation, unwrapped cables, "refurbished" packaging. It did NOT WORK on any computer in my house. I contacted CompuVest to return it and was told they would reimburse me for the shipping cost. After a couple weeks of hassle, including contacting my credit card company, the best they would do is no refund of shipping, and charging me a 15% restocking fee. I'm quite certain they will turn around and sell the same item again!! The high ratings I saw for this company on resellerratings.com must have been artificially generated by paid employee or agents. No one should ever do business with these scumbags."

Ordered a wrong part. Tech support was not at all helpful in selecting the right part, kept referring me to the online catalog. Had to get RMA number. Sent back for exchange. RMA was processed but replacement was never sent. Received partial refund, minus restocking fee. (May be fair, but still unpleasant). Had to call customer service. Evidently they did not have replacement part listed in the catalog that tech support was referring me to. Never got an explanation via E-Mail. Stuff is unfriendly. Overall unpleasant experience.

Ordered an Onkyo Home Theater system advertised on-line. The order was processed as a different version of the model. Shipped a completely different model of lesser value. No help at the Customer return number. Waited two days for a call-back to be told "returns are done on-line". Filled out the form specifying REFUND as indicated on the form. Paid $157.00 to return their error. Have an automated statement saying they processed the return for "store credit". Dealing with this company for anything again is the last thing I want to do.
Out $550.00+ and no theater system.

scam-style behavior involved writing to me, several hours after the website had apparently approved the transaction to say my card had been refused, then when I tried to re-order with a different card it seemed suddenly the 'free shipping' was no longer an alternative

bought a brand new panasonic 42" plasma from them. the tv arrived with the screen completly shattered. i've called and left 3 messages with compuvest over the course of a week and a half. They returned my second call only to say they were sorry and would get on it right away. she then basically hung up on me, rushed me off the phone. so they are one for three on retruned calls with the one being awful service. what does "get on it right away mean" when you offer up no other infomration when i press a little for action. i haven't recieved a plan from them on how they actually plan on dealing with this. no email, phone call, snail mail... nothing!

they took an order for something they obviously did not have in stock (or any way of getting), and they didn't tell me they were unable to fulfill the order.. that resulted in my not being able to buy the item, which was available through several other sellers at the time i placed the order.. it's bad when a seller takes money and doesn't fulfill and order, but that's easy to fix.. this is impossible to fix because i didn't realize it was an issue for weeks, at which point i was unable to order the item from another store

Ordered a refurbished IBM t42 notebook from Compuvest. Received it quickly with low cost shipping by UPS. The t42 looks and works as new, it fact when I opened the box I thought it was a new unit. I could not be more pleased. I have ordered from Compuvest a number of times dating back to 2004. Always a good experience.

Fraud / Scam alert. Don't use Compuvest.com. They advertise products as genuine OEM, but sell cheap knock-offs that do not funciton. They will also not refund shipping chargers or provide return shipping.
I ordered an AC adapter for my Nikon Coolpix 995 digital camera. The item I ordered from Compuvest was described as a “Nikon AC Adapter, model EH21”. In addition, the item’s condition was described as “***New OEM***”. The product that Compuvest sent me was an aftermarket (not OEM) battery charger. This aftermarket product is not made by Nikon, nor does it have the capability of doubling as an AC adapter. This aftermarket product is equivalent to Nikon’s MH-53 lithium battery charger; not Nikon’s EH21 AC adapter. The aftermarket adapter sells for 10-15 dollars from most vendors. I was charged $35 dollars for this non OEM battery charger. I already have a genuine Nikon OEM battery charger. What I don’t have is an AC adapter for my camera. Compuvest fraudulently listed this as a genuine Nikon OEM product and fraudulently listed this as an AC adapter. Compuvest will not provide return shipping for an item that was sold based on two fraudulent claims.

Their general tendency is to grab and run (your money). This is the 2nd time I've gotten burned (unknowingly, I went to them again ... my fault). This time, I bought two products (StarTech RAID enclosure & two HDDs). The StarTech was incorrectly advertised on their website (tech specs. were wrong, which they admitted to). So I had to return either the StarTech or the Hard drives so both would become compatible. They told me they would return the full amount & shipping. I chose to return the unopened HDDs. After receiving the product, they told me they would deduct restocking fee and not refund any shipping! These people also have no tech support in their company and are just a shipping house that tries to have a friendly interface till the time they are making money. They have no concept of customer satisfaction or long-term customer loyality. I've disputed the amount on my credit card.

I recently made a purchase from CompuVest and none of the products were as listed. They were supposed to be new items and all turned out to be very well used with scratches and dents. I was surprised to have this happen. Also, to return anything you wind up with a 25% restocking fee...beware before you order!

I ordered a refurbished part through their website. they sent me a defective part. It was tested on two different computers and a TV. It did not work. I requested and received an RMA number and returned the item at their expense. They claim it worked fine for their technician. They issued a refund minus their restocking fee. That is unnacceptable. The item was a brick.

I ordered a refurbished part through their website. First, they chose to deliver through USPS, even through I specifically chose UPS (and paid for) as a delivery method. They did refund for that error. Then, they sent me a defective part. It worked briefly for a day, then stopped working. It was tested on two different computers. It did not work. I requested and received an RMA number and returned the item at my expense. They claim it worked fine for their technician. They refused to replace the unit with another one. They would only send back the same unit that did not work. They issued a refund minus their restocking fee. So, I'm out money for a product that would not work and the return shipping. I would avoid doing business with this company. I don't trust either their products, their technicians or their business practices. I own a very successful computer repair business, which has been in operation for twenty years. I know when an item is defective. I also know when a vendor is being deceptive.

I placed one order. and they sent out two packets, one arrived, the other returned. Then I paid $10.98 to have it reship to another address. Retuned again.

Please read before you order from this store. People, be careful buying from here. It's not a good idea. I bought two video cards and they not working. They made me to pay for their shipping and mine for a defective item. They said working fine but after I talked to their tech they accepted that didn't work. After a month they still charge me restocking fee and their thech person is not there. It costed me about $300 to return their defective items. Please don't buy from them. I buy over technology goods over $5000 per month for our company and never seen this much spam.

I ordered a 50-pack of Maxell DVD-RW discs from Compuvest and received a 50-pack of Maxell DVD-RTW discs, which are actually DVD-R discs with a white printable surface. The web site and my order clearly stated "DVD-RW". Only by examining the technical details of the item could you see that they weren't actually DVD-RW discs.
Unfortunately, because I'd made the purchase well in advance of when I'd need the discs, I didn't discover the problem until I went to use the discs and it was too late to return them. Compuvest refuses to take them back or exchange them, even though they screwed up.
The website still has the incorrect information: http://www.compuvest.com/Desc.jsp?iid=1211201. (Manufacturer P/N: 635063, CompuVest P/N: 655002993-00).

I ordered a 1gb ram chip for my desktop, to add to my existing 1gb system.
The chip didn't work with my existing ram, so I ordered another matching chip to cure the problem. My system wouldn't boot and after taking to a repair shop, I found the system would work with original chip, but not Compuvest.com chips. Unfortunately, compuvest said they would not accept returns on new opened products, and I was willing to forfeit a 25% restocking fee for each chip, but the return was beyond the 14 day period. Too bad, so sad for me.
But I felt so much better when compuvest said I could list my chips on ebay.
I will NOT be doing business with Compuvest.com again. Be careful if you order from this company and make sure you check out the product your purchased carefully and within 14 days, and to FULLY READ THEIR RETURN POLICY.
