I have ordered from Carol Wright Gifts several times over the years. Their extra charges have in recent years  angered me for their deceptive nature.
They claim "free shipping", but add $3.95 for "handling charge".
PLUS, they charge $1.95 for "priority service..." .
So, in reality, the additional charge is $5.90 regardless of the name(s)  they give it.
The $1.95 charge used to be optional, but it no longer is.
To say that shipping is "free" is really misleading the customers and that is what I object to.  Why not just say shipping is a standard $5.90 and I would be OK with that. Let's say it like it is, Carol Wright Gifts!

Today I received a credit card statement with an unexplained charge for something called freeshipping.com -- when I inquired about the charge I found that they claimed I had signed up for their "service" while making a purchase from Carol Wright Gifts seven months ago and that the free trial period had expired and now I was being charged for their service.

Looking further, I quickly found that freeshipping.com is a well-known scam that rips off unsuspecting people.

I contacted Carol Wright Gifts asking why they had given my personal information and credit card details to this scam company and I received an immediate form letter reply admitting that freeshipping.com is a "partner" of Carol Wright Gifts but denying having given them any information and claiming that _I_ must have given this company all the information. Carol Wright Gifts also claimed that freeshipping.com sends out a welcome email to every new customer who signs up (I never got any such email).

From the form letter reply it is clear that Carol Wright Gifts receives many complaints about this scam and knows the company is cheating their customers.  Since Carol Wright Gifts chooses to "partner" with this scam, I have to put them in the same class of internet slime companies.

An internet search revealed the hard-to-find-at-a-good-price item I wanted … except it was at the Carol Wright Gifts online store.  For years they sent us their catalog, an eclectic offering of everything from clothing to “As ...

This is the WORST company ever! They advertise a $400 credit limit, but what they don't tell you is that you only get $50 and the rest you have to work your way up to after establishing credit with them for 6 months. They also don't tell you that you have put 50% down any order over $50, and they don't take credit cards for that 50% (this is true for any new customer). You can only mail in a money order which would have made my order arrive so late, I didn't need the dress by then anyway.
Their customer service reps are incompetent and do not value one stop customer service. One reps response was, "duh, ah...I don't know."

Carol Wright gifts this review is about a specific product called the "Giant Tomato Tree". What was I thinking? Well, the idea of having four plants that would grown on the average eight foot tall and produce over sixty pounds of red ...

I shop at the Carol Wright gifts on line store from item to time. I have been going there for a few years now. My mother in law was always showing me the catalogs that she gets from them and what she has ordered. She raves about them all the time. After ...

Very disappointed in purchases. Very slow to ship.

The giant tomatoes arrived almost dead. Did refund my money. Unfortunately, I ordered something else before the tomatoes arrived.

My order of 8 gardening related items was a major disappointment--very poor quality. Items returned at my expense. Has not posted to my account.

My order consisting of various fruits has drifted in. I reported the giant blueberries as being unsuitable--little twig with basically no root development. Emailed Carol Wright but have not heard back.

A box of I don't know what arrived--will try to return unopened. Return postage gets expensive.

Please learn from my problems, and shop elsewhere.

Last year I ordered a "fruit salad tree" from Carol Wright. The catalog stated that they ship sapling trees approx. 3-4 feet high. What I received was a stick about two feet high with several slivers of grafting spliced to the sapling. The directions tell you to remove the tape holding the splicings. When I did, they all withered and dried up within days. These splicings were fresh and never really became attached to the sapling.
I don't know who actually produces these trees for Carol Wright but they are rip offs.

Absolutely the WORST online shopping experience I've ever had, not because of any billing or shipping problems but for two reasons: 1. The product I received from them (a Royal typewriter) was of an absolutely terrible quality. It is likely a knock-off. ...

I've made purchases from this store in the past over 5 times. All the deliveries were shipped out quickly and on time as promised. I haven't had any order problems YET. I would say that overall I am satisfied with this store because I have yet to have any problems. Everything they send to me was sent without any damages to it too, and as you know ordering online sometimes things happened in transit that would mean a longer wait which I hate, not with this company. I ordered the Vidalia Chop Wizard and it was sent quickly. I also ordered the spice clips and they too were sent quickly. Whenever I had a question they answered it within a few days. The only issue I ever had was ordering plants. Not all plants will actually grow like they advertise it in the pictures. So I wouldn't buy the plants unless you have very good soil or have researched the plant to make sure it will work well in your area (zone)

I am interested in the 'Drain Buster'. However, the price you list is $8.99 with free shipping. When I was sent to the Carol Wright site it was/is $9.99 plus $3.95 shipping and handling. What gives?

This is my first experience with your site. It is NOT a happy one. If you are going to advertise something at a certain price, it should be at that price. If the price goes up, the ad should change. If free shipping is stated; it should be free, NOT an additional almost $4 charge. This appears to be false advertising at best OR bait and switch at worst.

I didn't actually buy the comfort wedge pillow here because their listed price was 19.99 but when I followed the link to the site it was 24.99. The same item is at Dr. Leonards for 19.99. I was going to try carolwright because the other place is having some shopping cart difficulties but it's not worth another $5.
