I ordered a hollis chair in November, with a ship date of Dec. 19th, okay I would have the item for christmas. Never heard a thing emailed cs, they said now it's being shipped Jan 2012. Real nice, first they don't tell me this and then I have to wait 2 months. customer service sucks

I'm sad to say that my buying days at Ballard are over. I've bought several things from them over the years, and each item ultimately had problems. I bought a coat rack umbrella stand that ultimately leans to one side. I got no satisfaction from customer service. I bought a copper boot tray that rusts (says it's rust "resistant") it is a boot rack and should withstand a little water. No such luck. I also bought a media cabinet. Had to send the first one back and the second one is even worse. The front door is warped and, again, customer service is of no use. It's sad as they have fabulous merchandise. It's a shame they don't care about the customer.

DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY.
I returned a wall hanging that did not fit and the company tried to charge me more money to return ship it than they did to ship it to me in the same fashion (UPS). Then they would only refund roughly a third of the price I paid for the actual product. Communicating with their customer service department is completely frustrating - I feel bad for their reps who clearly can only say "I'm sorry" and don't even understand their own return policy.

I recently ordered an upholstered bed (Camden) from Ballard Designs and have been very disappointed in the delivery service.  The bed arrived one day later than was originally promised and without bed rails.  Customer service promised a quick response to solving my problem and over a week went by before I heard from Ballard and that was because I contacted them.  It has been almost ten days and I still do not have my rails.  Ballard refuses to take back the item because it is upholstered and their customer service is DISMAL!

I finally broke down and bought an Overdoor plaque with our initial on it.  I have looked at this for years and finally decided that it was time to break down and buy it.  I thought it was a good value at $129, plus $20 or $25 (don't remember) ...

Delivery speed-excellent.  Quality of products-poor  
The tray table I bought tips over easily and the black finish comes off easily on the edges (came that way in the box and got worse)   The quilt is stiff and looks like polyester, very unlikely 100% cotton as stated. Cheap and uncomfortable. 

I was pleased that my order arrived ahead of schedule. I ordered an area rug. It was just as nice as the picture in the catalog. I am very happy with the rug. I may order a matching smaller one.

I've just bought a new rug from Ballards. I love the round shape, the print and the green color.  I have two of these on the floor of my wraparound front porch, and I get so many compliments on them.  They are already beginning to fade, but they are in bright light.  I hope they hold their color at an acceptable level for several years - we'll see.  They are a good product for a good price. 

Initial shipment arrived damaged, however, it was replaced immediately without having to return the damaged one.  I receive many compliments on this doormat as well as the stair treds that I also purchased.

Ballard rugs are beautiful and  very nice quality. I'd admired this rug from the catalog for over a year and once it went on sale, that cinched the purchase for me! It also fits perfectly in my space. It arrived earlier than I expected, which was a pleasant surprise, too! I would definitely order other items from Ballard Designs in the future. I'm a satisfied customer.

I bought two identical rugs for my son and daughter-in-law.  One was a runner for use in the kitchen in front of the sink and the other for use at the entrance to the house from the garage.  Both are high traffic areas as they have four children between the ages of 10 and 4 years old.  I wanted a design to reflect the artistic bent of my daughter-in-law who likes color and shapes like spirals, diamond shapes, heart shapes, etc.  The particular design I chose is the Turin rug with diamond pattern in the color of sage.  It is perfect for the areas I mentioned and so far they are holding up extremely well given the strategic locations of lots of traffic.  My daughter-in-law loves them (as does my son, but being the mother-in-law, I try harder to please her).    I know I can count on their products for their quality and appeal.

The rug I've ordered has  exceptional quality for the price.  It came on time and I was using it within 15 minutes. It's soft and luxurious for a sisal and no rug pad to deal with.  I will probably order another one for my living room.  It's texture goes with any decor. Thanks to Ballard!!!

We just received the braided jute rug from Ballard Designs and were disappointed by the fringed edges; they're long and nasty, not neat and tidy looking like in the picture. We may have to cut the fringed edges off but are concerned about ruining the rug. May not order from Ballard Designs again. Not impressed.

All of the rugs I have ordered from Ballard Designs are of excellent quality and easy to keep clean.  I normally purchase runners for my kitchen area and they add a nice touch to my kitchen decor.  We live at the beach so we need rugs that stand up to sand and water being brought into the house.

The rug we ordered from Ballard Designs is absolutely fabulous!  I hesitated for just a moment with the animal print, but it is great!  It really lends itself to just about any decorating theme and I get compliments all the time on it.  I use their catalog consistently for decorating ideas and I am never disappointed! 

I've ordered a rug from Ballard Designs. It's a very nice rug- it served the exact purpose I needed of adding texture without adding an additional design element for a room in transition. Good value for the price. It's helpful that the back is rubber so no rug pad is needed as I have it under my kitchen table and it needs to be moved for cleaning regularly. Some complaints about walking on the hard texture with bare feet from my kids. I am very happy with this purchase.

The rug that I received is great.  What I liked about it best was the price, I believe it was half off the original price.  I had shopped around at local stores and couldn't find anything comparable in that price range.

I love how this rug looks in my newly decorated living room. I have a tan sofa and blue walls so the rug pulls it all together. I am a bargain shopper so I checked several stores & websites before purchasing a rug. I kept coming back to this one and finally purchased it, so glad I did. I have received comliments from everyone who has come through my front door recently.

I love the stylish look of the 3 Zebra rugs I bought from Ballard Designs! I use them in our MBR suite in the bathroom. Since they are washable they work wonderfully well near the tub and shower. All I do is take them to our patio and wash them with the hose and a mild solution of soap. The sun dries them out in no time and they are much more sanitary than a large area rug in the bath. I give this product the highest rating.

This is the second Ballards rug I have ordered for my patio. I ordered one two years ago and it has taken a lot of abuse, dogs and weather in the south, plus pollen, mildew etc. Before I put my new rug out, I took the hose and washed the old one good, it looked like new. So I am holding both, one to put down for company and one for everyday traffic (dogs, kids, etc). They both still look great, and are very easy to handle. I love them and intend to order another one, smaller size, soon for my foyer. They look great indoor or outdoors. This is the best place and best price I have found to order, and I search the internet for deals. Hat's off to Ballards.

The rug is an indoor-outdoor rug but we chose to put in indoor under our kitchen table.  We specifically chose it because it was the exact color we have been looking for since we moved into our new home over two years ago!    I'm glad we held out.  We are very happy with our purchase and with Ballard's customer service.

This is not the first indoor/outdoor rug I have purchased form Ballard's and it probably won't be the last. I use the carpets indoors over the hardwood floors. I have two pugs and they need to walk on carpet for better traction. I needed something that was both functional and stylish and Ballard's indoor/outdoor rugs are perfect! They are sturdy, easy to clean and soft enough to walk on with bare feet. The selection of style and color are impressive and sometimes makes it difficult to select a favorite. I've told several friends about Ballard's and they are as happy with their purchases as I am with mine.

I ordered three indoor/outdoor rugs in black and ivory.  i love them all, two are in my kitchen and the third on the back porch.  i will probably be purchasing another rug and outdoor cushions to go on the patio connecting our porch.  we are in the process of building a pool house and will be needing more furniture, cushions and all manner of the fun outdoor items!  i enjoy their catalog and am anticipating more purchases in the future.

This is the third rug like this I've purchased from Ballard Designs in the last few years.  I have them in my kitchen, laundry room and entry from the garage.  They look great, are easy to keep clean and wear very well.  I love them!!

I really like the design of the rugs (I purchased 3 rugs/3 different sizes). Really pleased with the look and how they fit into the design of the kitchen and breakfast area. Like that spills can easily be wiped up. There are areas on each of the rugs where the paint is wearing off or showing wear.

I love my new rug! It smelled a little funky for the first few days but that quickly went away and I would recommend this particular rug to anyone! thanks to them for carring such a wonderful item in their catalog!

Trumpet ceiling lights i bought from Ballards are really interesting. I purchased them to replace the too small, outdated lights in my kitchen. They are much more substantial than they appear online, which will work well in my large kitchen space. These lights also can take up to a 150W bulb, which is fantastic for over work spaces. They have a whimsical feel and are of very nice quality. I especially like the vintage look of the fabric/rope cover on the wire. A unique find at a great value.
