Their clothes are beautiful...on a hanger or in the catalog. But overpriced and terrible quality. If you buy a rayon blouse from jjill be aware that you will only be able to wear it once. Stated care on the garments are wash cold water gentle cycle but they shrink and weirdly so. Blouse front will shink but not the back or the whole blouse comes out 3 sizes smaller. If you try to resize it it tears. Nice that you can return online bought items to the store if you have the original receipt but they'll tell you it's not their policy to accept garments for return that have been washed. Okay but that's how it shrunk so that it can no longer be worn. If you wait a few weeks that $80 blouse will reduce to $25 and it's still a bad bargain. Do yourself a favor, keep your wallet in your purse where this store is concerned.

I purchased two pair of wearever pants from JJill - exact same size. Wore and washed both of them.  One pair stretched out and is no longer wearable while the other pair is  fine.  Complained to JJill Customer Service and they said they could not accept returns on merchandise that had been worn and washed.  Didn't know I would have a problem until after wearing and washing.  Attempted to post this review on the JJill website but they rejected it.  I guess you can't depend on their website product reviews.  Very disappointed.

I AM SO DISSATISFIED WITH THIS COMPANY...I HAD A TOP THAT I ORDERED ONLINE AND HAD TO RETURN BECAUSE IT WAS TO BIG....IT TOOK THREE WEEKS TO GET A REPLY AND THEN THEY ONLY GAVE ME 8.02 CENTS CREDIT ON A TOP I PAYED 13.99 PLUS SHIPPING. COPIED AND PASTED...THIS IS THERE REPLY..The original shipping and handling fees for your order are non-refundable. Additionally, there is a return processing fee for using the pre-paid FedEx SmartPost return label that was provided on the shipping invoice. This fee of $6.95 has been deducted from your refund. NOT A GOOD RETURN POLICY....!

I just received the 3 pants I purchased: one PONTE KNIT PANTS (3A004AT), one DENIN TROUSER (3A062DT), and one TENCEL TWILL TROUSERS (P7060CT). All were supposed to sit at the waist; none did! The size 10 Tall is enormous all over. The "denim" pants don't look at all like denim and the fabric looks worn at the front, where the pants close, like someone already wore them.  The fabric of all the pants looked cheap, especially the Tencel ones (very flimsy).  I am SO tired of buying pants that are described as sitting at the waist than getting some low cut trash! Why can't a company be honest and state what the product really is?!  (If you don't like my review, go ahead and berate it; I'm not playing for points, just giving my opinion, so go ahead and have fun...)

In spite of all of the reviews here I decided to give JJill a try.  And yes, the items are overpriced but I purchased sales items with additional 30% off and found the items to be a good value.   I was pleased with the quality.  I am also a petite and found the sizing to be perfect.  The sweater I ordered was a little loose but that was the style of sweater and I expected that.  I had no problem with shipping. The package was easily trackable and arrived within 4 business days.

I have purchased many items from JJill over the past 7-8 years - with hopes that the quality of fabric and construction will improve.  IT STILL HAS NOT.  I am a petite size so I do not have tons of options for stores.  I was pleased when their styles changed from that over-sized, non-structured form which swallowed my small frame.  BUT, the fabrics are still poor.  NOTHING ever launders well and they shrink when machine-dried.  Even using a cool iron (when indictaed to do so on the label) does not bring the clothing back to its 'polished' look as when first purchased.  I MUST find a new clothing line.  I am sick of spending money on junk.

Insist on Email Confirming Cancellation......
I placed an order with J Jill on-line and discovered half-an-hour later that my husband had already purchased it for me as a gift.  I called to cancel the order immediately and was told that it would not be sent.  I asked to have a Confirmation eMail sent to me confiming the cancellation but I was told that it was not necessary, instead I could simply click on the link found in the Purchase Confirmation eMail that I would receive shortly and I would see that it had been cancelled.  Over the next day I tried several times to access my order via that link but it didn't work.  I assumed that my order had been cancelled and that everything was OK.  2 days after cancelling I received a Shipment Confirmation.  Now I have to re-pack and send the article back to J. Jill.  This is a ridiculous waste of my time and could have been avoided had they sent a Cancellation eMail, just as most other online stores do.  If you cancel an ordrr via phone, Be smart and INSIST on an email confirming your cancellation.

Update**  Received statement yestereday in the mail expecting to see a $0 balance.  NOPE!  Called immediately and was told by rep that the other rep had not updated request, but had canceled it!!!  So sick of this company! 

Canceled my credit card and any future emails and catalogs from J. Jill.  Customer service on the phone is okay, but their website is ridiculous!  You put in a coupon/promo code and don't receive any type of response as to whether it was applied or not until the final checkout.  Most of the time, the code was not accepted.  Have to call in to have it applied.  Why do you not see a screen showing whether it was applied or not before the final checkout, jjill?

Final straw was using their website to pay my bill.  Always pay a week before due date.  After making my most recent payment, I received a credit for an item that was no longer available that I had ordered.  I logged back in to adjust my payment to reflect the lowered amount due - you can't adjust or cancel your payment without calling customer service!!  Are you crazy!!

I'd recommend avoiding this store as well.  I purchased my mother a nice gift from the store for mother's day.  The same day, she sent me a valid 30% off coupon code.  They wouldn't take it since I already submitted the order, which was about 30 minutes earlier. I know that I should have gone back in and voided the darn thing, but didn't.  I told them it wasn't a fair practice and got this reply: "Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts regarding our policy. We feel customer suggestions and feedback are a great resource and have forwarded your comments to our management staff for consideration."  

..... I guess you know where that'll get me.

I used to buy a lot from J.Jill, but hadn't for a couple years.  I revisited their site just recently and selected 3 silk blouses to order (cost > $250).  I had all kinds of problems ordering and without me ever hitting the "Place Order" button, I got an order confirmation from their website.  I never got to see the shipping rate, the taxes or the total.  So I was shocked to see a shipping charge of $19.95 for 3 light blouses.  This is a STANDARD (7-9 days) shipping charge.  When I emailed their customer service, they told me they were aware that the site was having problems and $20 is reasonable for a shipping charge.  It's not.  I shop a lot online and that is NOT reasonable for that amount of shipping weight.  And most websites will offer you free shipping when you spend a lot of money.  Their customer service didn't bother to offer to cancel the order or anything else.  Their message was basically "Tough Luck."  I will never order from them again.  It's not worth the hassle or the money.

Wish I had read this site prior to purchasing.  I just chatted with an on-line customer service person who was rude and sporting the company line or what appears to be the "mantra" that the customer is wrong and the company is right.  I must "thank" the on-line chat person for their "reminder" of how I was "aware" of the shipping days when I placed my order.   J.Jill has the slowest shipping of ANY catalog business out there - 7 solid days to come from Massachusetts according to the tracking number - and I live in Pennsylvania.  The customer service rep repeated again that "I" knew the order shipping terms when I purchased.  I did receive an e-mail from customer service later that stated they would be looking into the matter and that my opinions were very important to them.  Basically, it was a form letter and did not state that they understood the situation or were willing to improve their service.  Thought I would give J. Jill a try but will not buy from them again.

I placed an order 12/24 during an online-only sale.  Then (after placing the order) saw a lot of negative reivews about the online store and got very worried.  My item shipped out a few days after the order even with all the holiday business.  Due to the nature of free shipping and I think some fed-ex issues, I did not get my package until the 10th business day after the order (it was free shipping though so I could not complain).  there were some issues with fedex tracking of the order, and when I contacted jjill- the representative offered to refund my order if I did not get it by the 10th business day.  About 1/2 the items in my order did not fit well (a little too big).  I took these to my local jjill store (I had never been in there before) and they were very gracious about taking the return.  The qualityof the items in my order were as expected, and I felt reasonable for the price point compared to other retailers.  Overall I would shop here again.

1. VERY diappointed in quality of a garment that I washed by hand and it when I hung it up to dry I saw 7 quarter sized holes.  I was so upset and disturbed that the quality was so  so bad.  When I called  "customer service", which by the way is a joke , I reveived NO service.  She just told me it  was my fault.

2.  Apparently I did not set up the online billing correctly which I discovered when I was called by World Financial telling me my bill was past due.  I was horrifed as I pay all bills in full and on time.  I paid the bill on the spot with a fee of $15.  I feel I was bullied by the guy on the phone as I could have gone to a store with a check or just paid the bill online.
Not thrilled with their new bank.  Am considering no longer doing any business with J.Jill.  All my work clothes were bought from them - now I have to find another retailer and I HATE to shop.

I ordered several items from J Jill online on nov 10th I still haven't recieved it. It has been 9 business days and over 2 weeks. Customer service was rude and lectured me how it was coming from new Hampshire. I asked her could she send me overnight a new order or refund my money as I had wanted the outfit for thanksgiving.  I was told I would receive the package....sometime.  I told her that I often ordered online and recieved shipments within 5 business days. Also I have recieved mail through the USPS from the UK more timely than this.  If this order ever arrives I will return it to a store and get a refund and never deal with this company again as they don't care about the customer

I have not had good experiences with shopping on J.Jill Online.  Of course, I am an avid Zappos and Amazon shopper and fan, so perhaps my expectations are too high for JJill.  I agree with several of the other reviews that express the general snootiness factor.  There is nothing pleasant about shopping on JJill online.  The quality of the clothing is marginal at best and the value is just not there.  This applies to the store merchandise as well.

Shoppers Beware, Beware!!!!
To let everyone know, that when that little pop-up window appears, to let you know that you have been 'pre-approved' for a J. Jill credit card, that they have Already hit your credit services for a look at your rating...Regardless of how many times you tell them "no thanks" to the "offer?" your privacy has already been invaded...
I can understand, if you are Requesting a card, but if you are not, they have no business looking at your credit rating...
When I look at the number of times this company invaded my personal business, twice in as many days, I was forced to call my bank to shut off and out all inquiries into my credit, plus go to Opt-Out..
when contacting the company the response was only some computer generated drivel...
This company has no ethics or standards at all, and I regret every penny they have ever gotten from me.. but it is the last I will ever do business with them.
This is for general information, apparently only the criminals have rights in our country.
p.s. All 3 of my scores are 800 plus.
Shipping charges are outragous.

J. Jill used to be a really good online store.  The items were true to size and descriptiion, of generally good quality, and usually timely delivered.  Prices have always been a little high, but seemed worth it for the quality.  However, over the past 2 years, their items must have been outsourced to a different supplier and the sizing/cut/descriptions are way off base.  You can order a style and size that once worked well, and find that the item is now totally different and doesn't fit.  The company will refund shipping if you ask them, but it's still aggravating.  Reliability and consistency of a product is important to most online consumers, but doesn't seem to mean anything to the retailers, I suppose because many people won't bother to make the return, so they are still making money.  But I won't be ordering from J. Jill anymore.

I have bought quite a lot of things in their recent sale. Everything is nicely made, and fabrics are good too. I was disappointed in their "Easy linen pants". In the photo they look very slim and straight cut, but in fact they are cut very large in the bottom and thighs, and are slightly tapered, making even the XS look baggy and shapeless on a slim person. Unfortunately I had taken the labels off and washed them before I noticed, being in a hurry to pack for a vacation.Note to Jjill - we are not all fat you know!!

For the past 5 years I have ordered merchandise from J Jill, and it was generally of good quality, although a bit overpriced. But they sometimes stocked one of a kind items I was willing to pay a bit extra for. In my last order, one pair of pants was too large. I returned them unused and asked for a smaller size. They refused, accusing me of having worn the item (I had not), washed the item (I had not) and something about placing an initial in the tag (no idea what they were talking about). This kind of shoddy service is inexcusable. They were curt and short with me when I called. although this was the first item I had ever returned to them. I will never do business with this sleazy outfit again.

Watch out for PROMO codes from jjill catalogue. I ordered online using the advertised free shipping promo code BEACH1 and it was not reflected in my total, instead was charged almost $20 for shipping. When I called customer service, I was told it would reflect on email confirmation, that seemed a little strange, right, I mean your final total on the screen when your credit card is accepted should be your actual final total, right? When I received the email confirmation, it still wasn't correct, still showing the original total including the $20 s/h charge. The supervisor in customer service explained, after several excuses of why this is happening, none of which made sense, that my "next" email, that of shipping confirmation would reflect the correct total. Come on now, this is no way to do business.

I used to be a big fan.   Unfortunately,  the clothing designs and colors in the last year and half have been dull, lifeless, and unflattering.   I've written letters to no avail ...   Stripped shirts, baggy sweathers, turtle necks, tee shirts, bulky sweaters, drap colors of blue and green.  Mock military styles that are even worse.  No life, no style, no shape.
I guess looking like a comfortable slob with zero personality is in style.

Odered gift online and paid for gift packaging. Came in box with string around it and J Jills name all over it. E-mailed customer service and was told sorry had picture on line. Just wanted them to know that I could throw something in a box and wrap with string and it would not have their name all over it. Just felt response from customer service was designed to make me go away.

I purchased a cotton top from J Jill---and have only worn and washed (hand) it a couple of times.  Imagine my frustration when I was wearing it...and all of the sudden it started falling apart, as if it  had dry rotted.  I called the local J Jill store, where it was purchased--and she said that only if I had the original receipt, could they issue a store credit.  Well guess what, I don't have a receipt.
Now a pair of white linen capris that I bought only about a month ago are coming apart at the crotch seam.
I have never had any kind of experience like this before.
I am not rough on clothes at all...I am very disappointed in the quality.
