Don't EVER work with this company! So many problems and frustrations, I will try to summarize:
Communication problems on every level - from what was advertised on the website to the delivery, and then trying to contact customer service for missing parts and a refund for the return of a defective head rest. I ordered my massage table on 3/13/08 and am still waiting for a $53 refund and it's 10/23/08. I even reported this company to the BBB and that didn't make a world of difference. They made NO attempt to contact me or make things right.

I can't say Mercantila are crooks as I am not waiting long enough to find out.
They take your order. Confirm it via email. Then you never hear from them again. Their web site leads to nowhere. The links either don't work or, links that purports to provide information leads to nowhere. The only link that does anything is to buy.
Calling them on the phone is useless. The automated side sends you nowhere. The only way to get a human is to place a new order. When you tell them you would like to know the status of an existing order, they say wait a minute and transfer you to a phone that never picks up.
I would not recommend ordering from any Mercantila store (there are many).

terrible!!!!
I have called the customer service and cancelled my order right after I placed it since I found the same product in a store. However, "Mercantila Inc" has never cancelled my order or refound my money back. (Of course I have never received my order...) so I called again and again...everytime Mercantila Inc would put me on hold for at least "20 mins"!!!
They have very bad customer service and please don't ever shop there...

This was truly the worst experience! I am also filing a complaint with the FTC. This company mis-represented it's product on the web (posted a photo different from the product, interestingly enough, the photo has been pulled since I complained), then charged a 15% restocking fee, shipping charges (even though it's free!)
Their customer service is non-existent - it takes days for someone to gt back to you (by email), not a single phone call.

I ordered an inversion table from Mercantila. I received an order confirmation through email so I thought everything was okay. Then after multiple weeks I realized there was no shipping status update, and when I tried to contact them through email and phone, I couldn't reach anybody. I even tried to cancel through the automated service, and it failed. In the end I disputed the charge through my credit card to get my money back. They need to revamp the customer service for this company.

Beware!!!
The prices are not worth the aggravation of dealing with this merchant.
I placed 2 orders with them. The first order arrived quickly and in good condition. The second order arrived damaged in the box although the box was not damaged.
Trying to get a living, breathing person to help me was to impossible. After numerous attempts I finally disputed the charge and received a credit for the damaged table.
Save yourself the trouble and order from a merchant with a better rating. I wish I had!

I suspect the few good reviews posted here are posted by Mercantila. Mercantila appears to be either a scam or a very poorly run company. I ordered a $1400 treadmill from the Treadmill Store. I never received the treadmill and could not contact anyone at Mercantila via email or telephone. Stay away from any of Mercantila web sites.

Mercantila.com claims its headquarters are at 665 chestnut street in San Francisco...this is a fraudulent address that doesn't even exist in County records...State of California cancelled their llc license in 2002. Unable to even track where the defective shipment originated, and unable to locate any person to resolve problem. San Francisco DA and Immigration and Customs Enforcement needs to be alerted in this post-911 era!!!

Steer Clear!!! Do not make the same mistake I did. I ordered a toy box on March 7 and was told it was backordered. I got a form-letter email that did not address my specific questions, and all of my telephone calls to customer service and supervisors went unanswered, as did my request for a refund. The voicemail even says, if I do not contact you back within 24 hours of this message please contact my supervisor at "x" extension, which led me to believe they cared about customer service. The supervisor did not call me back either! I am surprised anyone has had a good experience with them as they take your money and do not deliver the product, which just sounds like fraud to me. Like another post said, you end up having to make a claim with your credit card company to fight on your behalf. It has been 4 months and I am still fighting to get this resolved.

Do Not use Mercantila. Products are often out of stock and attempts to reach a live person are futile. They will charge your card fully knowing the item is not available and then refuse to refund. You will end up doing battle with your credit card issuer to get your money back.
