My wife and I decided to look for a wine rack that would fit our needs, and after searching through countless web sites we concluded this Mesa Home Arch 44 bottle wrought iron wine rack would be ideal. Shopping for the best price we immediately realized that there would be no free shipping from any of the vendors we found, either on-line or in the catalogs we had looked through. This item seems to list most frequently for $299 plus $50 additional shipping. UnbeatableSale.com had a price of $201.83 plus $158.59 shipping for a total of $360.42. So depending on whether or not you have to pay sales tax you can expect to pay around $350 - $380 for this item to be delivered to your door. Although the shipping cost seems staggeringly high it does have a shipping weight of 47 lbs. In addition it leaves the vendor's dock attached to a pallet. We noticed the total cross-country shipping weight was shown as 85 lbs. All this does help avoid damage during transit, which can be so annoying when purchasing larger items. It had been detached from the pallet when it was delivered. It arrived very well protected and fully assembled in a large cardboard box with styrofoam block packing and yards of bubble wrap It is solidly constructed with feet that can be adjusted to compensate for uneven floors. We were attracted by the design which seemed less ornate than some of the similar products out there. This is a matter of personal taste of course, and we could have chosen the Howard Miller 655-146 Wine Arbor for a sale price of $247 with free shipping but we didn't care for the design. Reviews for the latter were generally positive so it's worth a look before making a decision to purchase. Our only concern now is to see if we can keep our new wine rack filled with 44 bottles of wine as fast as we can drink it!
