Scams people by sending a lower spec model instead of whats advertised
I ordered a Thinkpad T420 from them and they advertised the 41786VU. I bought it thinking it was a pretty good deal despite a bad review I read while checking out the reliability of this site. The review basically said that he ordered a Thinkpad T420 41786VU model and they sent him a 4178-6UU model. VU model has a nicer graphics card, nicer screen, and a 9 cell battery. He returned the product and had problems with customer service and refund. I decided to buy the Thinkpad because I needed a computer badly and it said it ships within two days.
The shipping statement was a lie. It shipped four days after my order and they sent it to the wrong place. I had to wait 3 extra days. When I opened up the box, lo and behold, they sent me the UU model instead of the VU model. Just like the review said.
Emailed customer service thinking they will replace the UU model with a VU model but instead they wanted to refund the money. But after reading numerous reviews saying that they had problems with refunds, I was inclined to believe the reviews because I already made the mistake of not doing so.
I never had a bad experience with online shopping until TigerDirect. Crappy customer service, takes two days to reply. Slow shipping, made mistakes too. And lastly, they try to pull off that scam advertising the VU model and sending out the UU model.
I will never buy from Tiger Direct ever again nor will I recommend it to a friend. Stick with Newegg, they never pull stuff like this.
