Disappointing and terrible customer service.
I am very disappointed with The Children's Place Online. I have shopped at their local stores for years and even purchased stock in the company when my daughter was born.
Last Friday, I placed an online gift order, but I never saw an area to enter a "ship to" address other than the "bill to" address. I did pay extra for giftwrap, so I wanted to be sure that the gift went to the correct address. Before I knew it, the order had gone through and I called "customer support" immediately. Of course, there was no answer (9-5 EST weekdays only...). So, I sent off an e-mail with the correct address and figured it to be taken care of.
On Monday I received an e-mail stating that once an order has been placed, no changes can be made. What kind of policy is that? The only thing they offered was that I could return the merchandise to the store for a refund (minus gift wrap and shipping, of course...)
So, now I have paid them for shipping to my home and I have to pay for shipping to the actual gift recipient also. There is just no reason not to be able to change an order! If your system cannot allow changes then you need to take a second look at how things are done there - this is no way to do e-business.
