Worst online shopping experience ever. So many problems.
The worst on line shopping experience I've ever had - and I shop on line a lot!
The merchant seems to be known by both Shindigz and Stumps - confusing. I placed my order for party supplies a little more than a month before I needed delivery. According to the info at the site this seemed like more than enough time. No sooner than I placed the order was it put on hold and I was called back regarding a problem with my cc address not verifying. Over the phone there did not seem to be a problem with the cc. Next difficulty was that in spite of the fact I was able to place an order on line for monogrammed glasses with a gel candle inside, I was told that I could only order a larger number. I explained that the site indicated there were fewer than the minimum left in stock and thus I could place the order on line. I was told at that time - no you can't - just the minimum.
I specified when ordering that the products should be shipped not to my home but to the location of the party thousands of miles away.
I filled out the customer satisfaction survey quite positively (admittedly wondering if this was premature). The company followed up and I explained my experience in that the on line order suggested the order was possible when it was not. I was told that I could indeed order the smaller number. I placed the order only to then be told there was a problem with the new order. I thought that was sorted out but a week later when I followed up there was no order pending. Delivery times were getting a bit tight and I was told the gel would not be possible. My husband ordered monogrammed glasses (no candles)through another on line merchant. These came in perfect condition before the date promised.
I was then told by Stumps/Shindigz that in spite of the previous conflicting info I could indeed order the gel candles too. I proceeded but I was very concerned by this time. Rightfully so since the glasses came without the accompanying gel candle on the last possible day before the planned party.
The other part of the order comprising the decorations came on time but to my home address necessitating our carrying a large box with us when we travelled to the party.
The merchant could not ship from my home to the party nor did they offer to reimburse for such shipping. They offered a credit for the value of the missing gel (nice to know at least I don't have to pay for something I didn't receive) but I was still billed taxes, shipping etc for both glasses and candles. The company(s) did not seem at all interested in making amends. I asked for a customer service manager to contact me a month ago and again more recently. I've heard nothing back to date and don't expect to.
If you have to order from these people, please make sure you do so with months to spare to sort out any difficulties. You might want to keep your order as simple as possible too. Good luck but I won't be using them again.
