Purchased a Singer CE-200 Sewing Machine. The purchase was easy. They had a fair price and offered free shipping and free extended warranty. I received the product with in a few days of ordering. Seemed like it was going to be a good experience.
Then when I finally was able to try the embroidery function I found that the machine was defective. I looked at the store policies regarding returns and found that they had several policies that looked questionable. I then called and spoke with them about the problem. They were very pleasant on the phone and provided me with a return authorization.
I shipped the item back at my expense and the waited. After I verified they had received the item on 04/11 I sent them an email inquiring about my refund. They delayed issuing my refund until 04/30. Then as I expected they did not refund the entire amount. I was shorted $58.09. I complained about the large amount deducted since the product I received was defective. They refused to return any more money. I then filed a complaint with the BBB, which went unresolved.
After all was said and done I lost almost $60.00 on this purchase. The company did not back its product and did not take care of its customer. I would not be able to recommend Sew and Vac Direct. In my judgment I would have been better off spending $100.00 more and purchasing from a trusted name like Sears. Before purchasing from this company or any internet company you should thoroughly read the terms and conditions of the sale and watch out for items like "non-refundable extended warranties" "Restocking charges" and "deduction of shipping charges even though the shipping was advertised as free.
