Came promptly. Some items I ordered where out of stock.

I ordered tiki torches (with raffia bows and seashells) at Oriental Trading. Online and in their magazine they show the tiki torches on a beach. They, however, don't show the whole tiki torch. There is a reason for this. They are short. Thirty-two inches to be exact. It says it right in the description, but when you look at the picture and when you see they are advertised right next to the mini torches you just think they are regular tiki torch size. It's my fault, I didn't get out a yardstick and measure but I just looked at the picture and assumed. Their height is a fire hazard. If you stuck them in the ground you would have to worry about people's clothes catching on fire or little children's hair. I'm going to have to return them because they'll never work. They came promptly. I ordered them when they had a free shipping promotion, which was nice. They are nice to look at but they are shorter than regular tiki torches, also the canister that holds the oil is much smaller too.

I also ordered other supplies for a luau. Only half of the paper fans came and out of those less than half were in working order. When I opened the fans to check and see if they were okay one side of the fan wasn't glued down to the fan handle. I ordered 100 fans. Only 4 dozen came and out of those only 21 were in working order. I'm going to have to go back and glue down the one side again. So my advice would be if you do order the paper palm fans you need to check each one and make sure that it's not broken, otherwise you'll have some disappointed guests.

I ordered the 100 silk leis and I'm pleased with them. You don't get to choose your colors, but I think they included a variety of different kinds and colors. The seashell leis I ordered where out of stock and so those did not arrive. Part of the problem I'm sure was ordering when they had their free shipping promotion. I think many people ordered around the same time and that's why so many of my items were unavailable.

I've used Oriental Trading in the past. I've never purchased over $250.00 at one time before, so maybe that's why I seemed to have more of a problem this time.

I'm not blaming them for my misunderstanding of the torch size. I should have checked it out, but I do think the picture was misleading and others might come to the same conclusion that I did (that they were bigger than they are)and so I wanted to save someone the headache of having to send them back or worse having someone at their party catch on fire. If you put them in a bucket of sand you could use them on your tables and I think they would work just fine. Sticking them in the ground in the vicinity of people is not a good idea. Imagine someone walking by with a grass skirt. "Oh, the horror."

All said and done, I would use them again. They're prices are good and they're fast. I think they have a wide variety of goods and they don't have a minimum that you must spend. I think their shipping charges are a little over-the-top, hence my jumping at the free shipping promotion, but they seem comparable to other novelty stores online.
