This last Christmas one of the sites I used was mlb.com. I received an email about some of their items and one was for gift certificate cards, which I thought would work perfectly for someone I knew, so I clicked the link to their online store, which in my case was the KC Royals section of the site.
Their main page has lots of different clothing items like shirts, hats, gloves, as well as baseball cards, books and dvds, and more. There are links to different categories like men's, women's, kids, collectibles and more.
Their gift cards are only available in set denominations, so you can't pick any amount you want. But they are pretty typical at $25, $50, $100, $150, $200, and $250 amounts.
I had to admit I think the shipping seemed a bit high. The card could have been mailed for less than a dollar, but cost $7.98 since it was sent via UPS Ground. Of course there was no tax on the gift card, but for other products there also would not have been unless I lived in IL, NY, CA, or KY.
Their checkout was secure and allowed me to log into my current account or create a new one. It does save your credit card if you've ordered before, which I don't particularly like.
After I placed my order I got a confirmation email. Then 8 minutes after that I received a 2nd confirmation email that had a direct link to my order. The next day I got an email letting me know the gift card had been shipped with a link to my order which then had a link to track the shipment. My credit card showed up on my statement as being charged two days after the gift card was shipped.
The order actually arrived a day earlier than expected but there were no problems at all.
Overall this was an easy experience. I do wish I could have the option to not have saved my credit card, and there were little cosmetic things like the log in for your account says enter your email and password and then has two blank text boxes below and it could have been a little more clear. But for a simple transaction it was very smooth with no problems.
