One of the best companies for customer service and quality
I frequently shop at Nordstrom.com, mainly for shoes and cosmetics. I have shopped through the Nordstrom website for a number of years, and the reason that I have continued to do so is the excellent customer service; I know that if I have to return an item, I can do so with no problem.
Orders are confirmed by e-mail almost immediately. Items are shipped promptly, and notification of shipping is always sent by e-mail. If there is going to be a delay or if there is a problem with filling an order, Nordstrom will e-mail you as well. Of my many orders, I only received one e-mail about a limited edition makeup palette that was no longer available. I do not think that happens very often though.
I usually receive my orders within a few days to a week's time. I like the fact that there is a flat-rate $5 shipping charge for orders, and that sometimes (like during the holiday season), there is free shipping. Orders of like items (such as several pairs of shoes) will usually arrive all together in one big box. If you order different types of items, then you may receive separate shipments arriving on different dates.
I have ordered lots of shoes from Nordstrom.com and the orders are very accurately filled. I recall one time when I was mailed the wrong size, and I called the 800 number, and was sent the correct size right away.
What I really like about Nordstrom.com is the HUGE selection of BEAUTIFUL shoes and boots! There is much more selection online than in the stores (although the stores have beautiful shoe departments and it is fun to browse there, too). The prices are very good, and there are always sales and clearance shoes online. I have found amazing bargains, such as Sudini suede boots for $26 (originally 3 times that).
The website is a dream to navigate, with detailed descriptions and photos that show different angles and zoom and enlargement options. Although it is hard to shop online for shoes and clothes, I think that Nordstrom makes it much easier to know what you will be getting.
Ease of returns is another main reason that I shop at Nordstrom.com. You can return the items to any store. They even take returns without a receipt! They never ask questions; they just give you back your money. Another option is to use the enclosed return label, and you simply mail it back; they will subtract $5 from the refund for return shipping costs.
I find the selection of cosmetics on the Nordstrom.com site to be fantastic. I enjoy shopping for cosmetics online because it eliminates the pressure that you can sometimes feel from the in-store salespeople.
I have purchased some clothes from the website, but I have found that to be the most difficult because oftentimes, they do not fit me. I also find that the photos online do not always accurately portray the colors.
In terms of customer service, Nordstrom online and in the store is among the best. I believe that the salespeople and customer service people are trained to accommodate the customer. You will never get an argument from Nordstroms.
My overall satisfaction is extremely high, and I will continue to shop at Nordstrom. I am so happy that I have recently acquired the Nordstrom Visa so that I can get Nordstrom reward certificates.
