Garbage Customer Support

Newegg's Customer Service was absolutely terrible when I tried to buy a Heatsink from them on April 3.  The heatsink I tried to buy had a daily deal for that day, and I wanted to buy it using a $10 gift card I had.  The only problem with this was the gift card didn't work for some reason.  I contacted customer support and they looked at it and said it was valid.  Since it didn't work, they submitted a ticket and told me they would get back to me in 3-5 days - well after the daily deal ends, obviously.  I tell the customer support rep as much, and she told me when the issue is resolved, I can contact customer and they MIGHT be able to price match the heatsink.  Whatever.  When I get a response to the ticket, they tell me it was probably because gift cards sometimes take up to 24 hours to show up in the system (more on this later).  I email them back about the price match bit and promptly receive a VERY rude email stating the price will stand because there was no sale on the day I tried to buy it, and that the price hadn't changed since some time in March (I forget the date she mentioned).  I responded with an invoice I had from a failed purchase attempt to prove that the price was in fact what I said it was.  I got no response.  Furthermore, the price on the heatsink went UP by $5 that same day.

I them proceeded to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and am FINALLY getting this all resolved.  The best part, the gift card still didn't work.  Thankfully the person handling my complaint is going to match the price, credit me for a rebate I missed out due to the slowness to reply by the support agent that was emailing me, AND the $10 I paid for the gift card.

I would also like to note that I used Newegg for most of my purchases for my PC build, and for the most part, their company is great.  I just hope I don't have to deal with their customer service again.  I would still buy from them and recommend them.
