Lowe's Delivery is CONTRACTED out to a 3rd PARTY and SERVICE IS AWFUL!!
3rd PARTY DELIVERY SERVICE and it's AWFUL!!! Here's my story: Even after reading bad reviews about Lowe's delivery, I still decided to purchase a dishwasher not in stock from Lowe's online. Confirmation email said I'd get a phone call within 24 hours to schedule delivery somewhere near June 6. THREE DAYS later after not being contacted by Lowe's I called the store to which it was being shipped. They scheduled my delivery for June 6 (12 days after I purchased it online, no biggie, I can wait). I asked the guy if it might come in sooner, he said yes, and if it did they would call, and if I did not hear from them IT WOULD BE DELIVERED at 3pm on June 6. I got no phone call so I left work early to be home at 3pm on June 6. By 4pm, with no dishwasher in sight I called the store. I was told "someone" had changed my delivery date to June 7, and they were baffled because the dishwasher was in their store on June 5! I received no call with the change in delivery date. I was M.A.D. So after a lot of back and forth with store manager, store manager calling 3rd party delivery service, there was no way they were going to deliver it that afternoon. So manager said he'd call the delivery service on the 7th in the morning and get it on a truck to get to me in the 3-5pm window. I get a call from the 3rd party delivery service at 6:55am (I'm already driving in to work), and she says they have a light load and their delivery guy won't be out at 3pm anymore. "Could we deliver it earlier, around noon, and leave it somewhere?" What the?? A $500 dishwasher in my driveway for hours? Are you kidding me?? I told her it had to be 3pm or later. She left me a message later in the day saying the driver would be sitting in my driveway waiting for me to get home at 3pm. Two hours later I receive another message from her saying don't rush home, he'd be there closer to 3:30. Sooo...with baited breath I get home for 3:30. Well, 4:30 still no dishwasher. Store manager calls to check and make sure I got it. He calls delivery service, calls me back, says they should be there shortly. 5:30 still no diswasher. It's now 6pm and there's no dishwasher in sight. Mind you the thing is TWO AND A HALF HOURS LATE at this point and no one from the delivery company ever called to tell me they were running late!! Communication problems abound at both Lowe's and the delivery service and between the two. If I ever get this diswasher it'll be a miracle. I think the biggest mistake Lowe's EVER made was to contract out their delivery to a company over which they have no control. I don't think I'd ever buy a major appliance from them again. My time and energy is too valuable and I prefer a company that is on top of their stuff and arrives when they say they will--or at the very least calls to confirm delivery dates/times and calls if they are running late.
