I have long avoided buying clothes and shoes online since I can't try them on first. Also, I hesitate before buying expensive clothes for fear that I'll change my mind or it won't be as good as I think it is. But I have no worries when buying from L.L. Bean. They have the best return policy anywhere! Since a lot of their things are LL Bean branded, they know it's from them and so there aren't any hassles if I don't have a receipt anymore. Once I had a pair of boots that fit ok in the store but then once I tried to wear them, I realized the back part of the boot was stiff and rubbing the back of my ankle until it was bleeding. I thought maybe I just needed to break the boots in and so I just wore them again with thicker socks but they just wouldn't break in. Decided it wasn't worth it and they refunded my money with no trouble at all. Yes, things tend to be more expensive than I usually like to pay but I like that their products are of high quality and when they say lifetime guarantee, they really mean it! Now I'm reluctant to buy things from other stores if it's something I can get at LL Bean.
