JCP cancels order, doesn't contact customer, poor customer service!
After much shopping on-line for a bed & dining set for my husband, who moved to another state for a job, I ordered both items from JC Penney's, and used a coupon code I had. Since husband couldn't be home to take delivery, we chose store delivery. I received a confirmation via e-mail, my credit card had gone thru, and the order should arrive 4-7 days. I checked on the status 6 days later, to find out order status was "cancelled." I never received an e-mail or a phone call that the order was cancelled, so I called their 800 phone number, to be left on hold for a long time, I was told it was a "glitch" in their system, and nothing could be done til the following Tuesday. Upon talking to a supervisor, I was then told the items were discontinued - no longer available, and got a "sorry." So coupon had expired, and now were claiming nothing they could do. So my husband drove to the store, was told the items ARE in fact in stock, and they placed the order again, honoring the 20% off, again delivering to the store. I checked on that order status after 4 days, again the order says "cancelled." So he drove back to the store, again he was told the items ARE in stock, and that they're having problems with their computer system, and getting furniture delivered. Here we are 17 days later, no bed, or table for husband - and all we're getting from JC Penney is sorry - nothing we can do, the 800 # customer service doesn't even care that they've cancelled our order twice now, don't care that we've done a LOT of business with them previous, and don't care that I've contacted BBB. UNBELIEVABLE - talk about lack of customer service.
