You can't go wrong with ordering online from Penney's!
The BEST the BEST the BEST the BEST! I have ordered online a LOT from JC Penney's over the years. I've also ordered from other stores. No company beats JC Penney's for ease of ordering, prices (esp. when there are sales), fast shipping, keeping customer informed, advising of back orders, "free shipping" deals, filling orders accurately, non-defective products, and ease of returns and exchanges.
Seriously...whatever JC Penney's does in its online ordering business, other companies should study it and copy it. They have this online business downpat. They take it seriously.
I've ordered numerous times from them online. Not even once have I rec'd an order that was not accurately filled. Not even once have I rec'd a defective product. Once I rec'd a bedding part that was from a different dye lot, so I had to exchange the bedding set. But the dye lots were close, not obvious, so I can't say the person filling the order would've even noticed. That's the only problem I can recall having. I've rec'd many orders of clothing, bedding, foam mattress toppers, household items, you name it.
Because I don't have much time to shop in person, I will order several items I'm considering, and plan on returning the others (like work pants, for example). There is a Penney's store not far from me. I have had no problems returning or exchanging items at that store. I get there first thing when they open on a weekend morning, so I can park near the door (since I have to carry items in). And I'm in and out in just a few minutes. I take care to return the items in pristine condition, trying even not to unwrap them, if I can tell their color or whatever through the packaging. Penney's is always courteous and fast with my returns.
I find their shipping charges reasonable. But even so, Penney's frequently has "free shipping" specials, so I try to hit those times.
I don't ever recall an order being late. They confirm my order immediately, then send a shipping confirmation e-mail. If I have a large order, I may receive part of it one day, and the other part the next day. That is fine with me.
If something is not in stock, Penney's will tell you that in your cart up front, so I've never had a surprise with backorders. I know up front that I'm ordering a backordered item. Penney's will estimate when it will be shipped, even. (They have always shipped before that date, BTW.)
Penney's prices can't be beat. It carries high quality duvet covers, sheets, lamps, etc. It also carries lower quality items, so you should be aware that that's what you are ordering (the price reflects that, of course). Lower quality items can be just fine for certain things, but I don't expect the lower quality items I buy to match the higher quality items I buy from Penney's. Still, I can get some TERRIFIC bargains at this store, at prices I've never seen anywhere else. Quilts, matelasse coverlets, sheets that don't shrink, work pants that rival pants from high end stores. If I know what I want, sometimes I can wait to hit a sale. Even at regular price, though, I know that when I buy from Penney's, I'm getting good value.
Like any store, it is not perfect. Customers aren't perfect, either! But I am a Penney's online shopper for life because of my past experiences with it. Penney's has a great business model and it does right by its customers.
You can't go wrong ordering from this store, esp. if you have a local Penney's for returns and exchanges. No hassle with return shipping. This store has this online business downpat!
