Horrible product and Customer Service
Ordered a tree bench through Hayneedle with checkout through google. Instead of taking the full payment out all at once, they tried 2 transactions for the same amount, which of course triggered my bank to assume a fraud charge. They emailed me to tell me to update my account because the second charge was declined. They made it sound like it was declined because there were not enough funds in the account, which was not true. Then I got an email stating since I didn't comply, my order was cancelled. There was nothing to comply to...and I emailed them back saying to just process the second charge. The following day I got an email stating my order had shipped. I figured everything had been resolved. I later called Hayneedle and was told that yes....both charges had been completed and was given the dates the payments were withdrawn. I received the tree bench, which is still sitting in the boxes on my porch. The day after...I get another email stating my order had been cancelled, due to me only making 1 payment. I again called, and they verified that both payments had been received. Almost 4 moths later...I start getting emails from Hayneedles customer service stating that I needed to make arrangements to make the second payment and pay for what I got. My bank only gives me a 90 day window to view transactions. I offered to have them come and pickup the boxes (which had been out in the weather for almost 4 months) to return them and issue a refund. I read several bad reviews atating they will only issue a part refund, which wasn't acceptable to me. The customer service rep wouldn't commit to telling me I would get a full refund. I was having family issues and honestly didn't have the time and effort to keep batteling them. I couldn't readily verify the second payment had actually been issued. So I arranged for another almost $140.00 to be pulled from the account just to get them off my back.
I will NEVER purchae from them again. I did finally look at the bench partds, and think it looks cheap. Hopefully after assembling it...I will be more pleased, but not holding my breath on that one. Paying just under $300.00 for a bench...it should atleast look good!!!!!
I would have felt better had they offered me a small discount for all the effort, but NO.....they acted like I was a thief trying to get something for a better price. So buyer beware...their customer service and products really SUCK!!!!
