HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE FOLLOWING A FAILED DELIVERY TO FUNERAL

FTD.com did not deliver flowers to family funeral service because the "recipient" refused receipt. We discovered this after receiving a delivery comfirmation.  Called customer service several times to tell them that the intended recipient was deceased (hence the check in the box for funeral service) and was connected several times to customer call centers in India, Philippines, etc. where the language barrier really added to the insensitivity of the company.  Seriously, i'm all about a global economy, but when a company's customer service cannot communicate effectively with concerned customers, it is time to change your business practice.  I am now sitting on hold during our 5th attempt to determine a resolution and thought the 20 minutes (so far) would be sufficient to posit a review of FTD.com.
Total time of call (from overseas mind you) was 35 minutes.  25 minues of that was actually on hold time while representatives were transferring me to their supervisors - which they reluctantly agreed to do, but after the fourth (and very strong) request to be transferred to a supervisor, they finally agreed, but still wanted to know what the concern was.  After getting no where with the remotely located supervisor, I asked to be transferred to a supervisor in the United States who FINALLY understood and resolved the situation.  I'm frustrated that it took that long to get to someone who was both compassionate and responsive to the customer, but still rate FTD customer service as poor.  By the way, we received an email from FTD.com thanking us for sharing our "pleasant experience" with FTD.com.  Bottom-line, find a local florist on-line and avoid the middle-man.
