Beware Dick's online site.
Email gift certificates CANNOT be redeemed in store....read fine print.
Web site is quirky. I tried to order a gift card and didn't get to final screen. Checked email one hour later...no email confirmation.
Ordered another card.
Next day had two order confirmations.
They would NOT allow me to return one of the cards.
I would be very careful if you choose to do business with this site.

I recently ordered a gun 45 gun, gun safe from dicksportinggoods.com. I was told that my card would not be charged until the item was shipped. They charged my card before the item was shipped! They told me the item was shipped, weeks before it was really shipped. I was told the item would be delivered to my door. The truck driver in reality could not even get down my city street with his truck, so I had to meet him at a local large parking lot to have the 750lb safe lowered from his semi to the bed of my pickup truck. Once I got the safe home it was up to me to find a way to get it out of the bed of my truck to the ground, and into my garage. Customer service is VERY RUDE! Nobody seemed like they knew what they were doing, or for that matter really cared!

Dicks Sporting Goods online purchase is unacceptable. I ordered an item online and they sent me a random generic item in place. When I called to get it taken care she had said that I will be getting a return slip in my email. It takes 3 days for the return slip to be sent out. This is terrible if you need to return it quick so you can purchase another item elsewhere. This policy needs to be addressed ASAP.

This is a horrible store. I purchased a treadmill online and within the description of the treadmill it stated "Sole Fitness F85 Treadmill- Inside Delivery!" look at webpage "http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/sm-sole-fitness-f85-treadmill-inside-delivery--pi-1972017.html" well it has been 1 month, 13 phone calls and I still do not have the treadmill delivered inside. The trucking company is willing to deliver it curb side. The refuse to cancel my order and refuse to honor the inside delivery.

I am really surprised by the number of complaints concerning Dicks Sporting Goods. We have three children that are all heavily involved in athletics. Unfortunately we do not have a Dick's Sporting Goods close to our home yet so we shop their online store. We purchase most of our sporting goods and clothing from Dicks and have never had a bad experience. Our most recent purchase was a basketball hoop - the Lifestyle 79960. This was a large purchase. The day after I ordered I received an order confirm from Dicks. Later that day I received a call from the freight company requesting to schedule a deliver time for the following week. The product was to arrive in 7-10 business days according to Dicks. Our purchase arrived in 6 days and was in good shape. We have purchased heavily from Dick's and have very good fortune with their products and service. Great selection, best pricing, reasonable shipping costs and timely delivery - I cannot think of anything that could be improved in our experience.

DO NOT ORDER FROM DICKS!!! The exercise bike that we ordered online was damaged on arrival. We called UPS but they could not issue a refund for the purchase amount because Dick's did not place any value on the package. We called Dick's customer service but were told to call Proform for the return even though neither Proform nor exercise bikes are under "Return Exceptions" In fact, the website says that Dick's will accept the return of any damaged item within 30 days of purchase (manufacturer comes in after 30 days). In addition, there were also missing parts from the item. Dick's customer service is rude and very unhelpful. I will never shop at Dick's in the store or online again. Had I read the reviews on this website before purchasing, I would have thought twice about purchasing from Dick's. This is the worst experience that I have ever had ordering online.

We ordered a proform elliptical machine. It took a few days longer than we were told it would arrive. Then we found out we were missing an important part. So we called Dicks and they told us to call Proform directly. So we did. The part came and as we were putting it together we realized we had about 6 MORE PARTS THAT WERE MISSING! PLUS NO MANUAL!! There were even parts (like one that looked suspiciously like an exhaust pipe) included that don't belong to the product. CUSTOMER SERVICE MANAGEMENT IS RUDE AND INCONSIDERATE. 3 WEEKS AFTER WE ORDERED AND WE'RE STILL WAITING ON PARTS. AND THEY DON'T GIVE YOU ANY DISCOUNTS FOR TIME AND WASTED ENERGY. DO NOT BUY FROM DICKS--EVER!

STAY AWAY FROM THIS ONLINE STORE!!
Placed a Christmas order on December 14th. The products were in stock and were supposed to ship within 1-2 FULL business days. No explanation as to why they were not shipping.... no one in the store can help with ANYTHING you do online.... customer service wait time to talk to a live person was never less than 50 minutes (called 3 times)... the ONLY email correspondence is an automated reply letter.... you cannot CANCEL the items (even though they have not shipped).... and I received the items today December 31st!!! Now I have to pay to return them since you cannot return in the store.
Sport's Authority is much easier to work with, and the same items were cheaper!!!

I placed an order and received an email the same day saying the item shipped. The UPS link said the item was not picked up after two days. After waiting on hold for over half an hour, I was told, everything was fine and the system just didn't show the progress. After paying over $50 for 3 day shipping, I called again when the package did not arrive. Again, I waited on hold for over 30 minutes. And my order was never shipped and they didn't even have the product in stock. They said it would take over 24 hours to refund my credit card and to call back if it didn't show up. I'm not impressed and won't shop there again.

I've enjoyed the bricks and mortar store, but the online store is too much of a hassle. I ordered an elliptical machine and some other products, and they sent me an e-mail saying that my credit card was having trouble verifying. I called the number in the e-mail and they actually tried to get me to give my credit card information over the phone. I balked, telling them I had no proof this even WAS Dick's Sporting Goods, so then they just asked for my phone number.
They then tell me my order is verified and that I'd receive a confirmation e-mail in a few moments. I checked and indeed I got an e-mail -- that some of the products I wanted are backordered. The e-mail, however, doesn't say which products are backordered or for how long. It also doesn't tell me a web or e-mail address I can contact for more information (although it tells me not to reply to that message).
Aggravating to say the least. My distrust will certainly carry over to the physical store; I doubt I will use them again.

Order two tennis rackets several days ago. First, confirmed the order and indicated that they were in warehouse would be shipped in 1-2 days. One day later, another email came and indicated that those two rackets were on advance order, whatever that meant, and the shipment would be delayed. I ordered a pair of basketball shoes late on a Friday afternoon. I didn't pay additional for the overnight shipping because I didn't think they'd be shipped until Monday any how and didn't want the added expense. They were actually shipped out on Saturday and arrived on Wednesday. I thought this was very fast delivery service especially since there was no charge for the regular ground shipping and there was a special offer where I could return the shoes without paying the return postage if I needed to. Also, the shoes were ten dollars cheaper than I found on any other web site. They were exactly what I ordered. I'm satisfied!

Never ever again! I will never go near this site again! I ordered a baseball bat, 3 weeks later I got a pair of gym shorts (they weren't even from Dick's but from sports authority????. How did that happen. Are they sharing my credit information? My name? address? Then when I tried to contact someone, it was a nightmare! It took 5 tries to get someone on the phone. I sent 3 e-mails that have never been answered! Then I was told I had to ship it back and place a NEW order. Start all over and wait another 3 weeks? I think not! trust them with my information again? I think not! They wouldn't even exchange. This company does not care for the customer at all. Once they have your money, they are done with you. BTW it's been 60 days since i returned my "gym shorts" (which cost $225.00!) I am still waiting for a refund!!! UGH!

Many of Dick's Sporting Goods' problems (poor service, poor product selection, indifferent customer service in-store and online) stem from a culture of intimidation that its top leaders instill in workers as this retail chain grows. Driven to expand at all costs, management leaves workers scrambling to keep up ("Relentless Improvement" is the slogan), while being wholly insensitive to --and frankly uncaring about-- worker's needs for clear direction on how to effectively manage growing workloads. Result: low morale, high stress. Dick's workers often are fired on a whim in an atmosphere of unrealistic expectations and make-it-up-as-you-go leadership. Knowing this, should you be surprised when Dick's disappoints? And should you support a company whose management shortens the lives of its employees by such treatment? You decide. Ultimately, this all will come back to bite them hard.

In 10 years of buying things on-line I never had one bad experience--until I made the mistake of using Dicks Sporting Goods' website.
Better read the fine print really closely before you hit "send" with these clowns. They do not allow any changes or cancellations. If you have questions about anything there is no way to speak in person with a "human" to get an answer. And the product information on their website is often incomplete or misleading.
If you send an e-mail, it will be answered at 3:30 AM the following morning by someone with an assumed name like "Sally Y". All their so-called customer service people are good at is reading back the fine print of the so-called contract formed when you hit the "send button".
Be afraid....be VERY VERY afraid.
And buy your stuff someplace else.

The company's website clearly shows that the item is in stock. However, after placing an order, I received an automated email stating that the item is an "advance order" and actually not available yet. It took 3 calls (disconnected twice) to customer support before finally having the order canceled.

Well to put it bluntly I would avoid Dick's Sporting goods online store. To begin with they offered a free shipping method which took 10 full days to reach me. Then when the product arrived it was clear that it was a repack. Item had been resealed and sold for new. It had obvious signs of prior use (batteries already installed manuals torn etc)
Stay away from these people.
I will be returning my product and paying considerably more to ship it to them than they spent shipping it back to me!
