Purchased a Canon S1 IS digital camera using the website which stated they were in stock. Received two emails stating the camera would be shipped in 1-2 business days. After not hearing anything more for 8 days, received an email stating they were back-ordered, and would not be shipped for a minimum or 4 weeks, although no date could be guaranteed. Phoned customer support to cancel the order, and was told the camera would be shipped when it was in stock (duh), but they could not be more specific than that. True stock should be reflected when making a purchase.

Over a week ago I ordered a refurbished laptop. After 8 days of me calling to find out where it was, they finally informed me that the computer was unavailable. When I asked what they were going to do to make things right, they said they could give me a new computer for 10% off. The problem with that was, in order to get a computer with all the features I had ordered, I would have to end up paying $500 more. A classic bait and switch. I will be informing the BBB.

Do Not Waste Your Time ordering an electronic item or accessory from this company. I placed an order for an item that they still show as in stock on a number of websites on Aug 11th. I find out its on backorder, then its estimated to be shipped out on the 25th. I find out on the 25th that maybe it will be shipped on 11/17. I promptly canceled the order at this point. BAIT AND SWITCH. Avoid this company at all costs. I used to have great things to say about them, but never ever again.

I won't go into the minute detail but my recent expereince with buying a Dell Dimension desktop was horrid. I didn't get the flat screen as advertised, they didn't provide enough RAM to run the provided AOL and the absoluetly worst customer service EVER experienced, from time of the order to talking to trouble shooting with scripted foreigners incapable of independent thought or analysis of simple problems. I complained so much a "super service" tech was to contact me, that amounted to 2 voice mails at times I stated I was working. The was the end of. It is also the end of my dealing wiht Dell. Seems to be a decent product but with no customer service it is a boat anchor. So the laptop I am buying my son WON"T be a DELL

Ordered Dell Axim X30 High with optional GPS pack on July 28. Was told by Dell that GPS should ship on Aug 3 and Axim should ship on Aug 9. It is Aug 12 and after repeated phone calls to Dell I get the message that my order is "in processing". When I emailed customer service, to get a specific ship date, I was told that they would forward my message to the "concern" department and it would take 2 days for them to get back to me with a estimated ship date. That is a full week after I was supposed to receive my item that they MAY be able to give me a date on when my item will ship!!! If they had been honest at the start about the ship date (I notice they are still selling Axims with a 2 week post order ship date, just like when I ordered), I would have purchased an IPAQ. Or they could have just told me after I ordered that they are having trouble and my new ship date is X. Why the secrecy?

Next business day shipping turned out to be 2nd business day. Sent a completely different item that would, in no way, work. The model number was not remotely close to what I ordered and the item was for a laptop that could not be more different from mine and still be made by the same manufacturer. It was as if they paid no attention to what I asked for and just threw the nearest thing into a box with my name on it. Then, they held my money (that they took for sending me the wrong thing) for 30 days after I returned the item.

Found product, site displayed total price (with tax), ordered item, got price confirmation, was shipped quickly and was in good condition. But bill came through on Amex and was $43 higher than quoted. Was told by Dell customer service that original quote "was just an estimate" and I had to pay higher amount.

Ordering my new Dell Inspiron 5100 was easy. I was able to customize it and by ordering online I got several free things such as shipping. Well maybe the free shipping I received authorized them to take an extra few weeks building and shipping the computer to me. I have a Dell financial account so I have ordered from Dell before and shipping is ALWAYS slow.
Customer service is horrible. My keyboard on my laptop needed to be replaced and it took over 3 hours (yes 3 hours!!) to get to someone who knew what they were doing, spoke English, and could actually process the order for the replacement keyboard.
I only call Dell when I absolutely have to. Ordering is the easy part. You enter the black hole of Dell after they have your money.

Just ordered a simple antenna set for my wireless router. Shipping is supposed to be three to five business days. Just received my order confirmation saying that it will take 9 days before the item is prepared for shipment and then possibly another 5 days before it is even picked up by the shipper. What the heck!!! If I wanted to wait that long I could have bought it for a cheaper price at another website. Dell should make it a point to post whether or not an item is in stock or if there will be any delays on a particular item. They did not indicate any of this for this item. I have canceled my order with Dell. I'm going to reorder the item from another website which does not have it in stock yet, so I will have to wait just as long but will pay $10.00 less, get free shipping, and most likely get better service. Boy, has Dell gone down the tubes!!!

A month ago I ordered a Dell lap top. The order was accepted and my payment made and confirmed. A month and a million phone calls later I am still awaiting delivery. The call center that deals with enquiries (and therefore complaints) is an out and out shambles. Having encountered every excuse in the book (all of them different and conflicting) I am now about to cancel the order. The whole experience has proved highly frustrating and shouldn't be allowed to continue. With the mega advertising bucks Dell are spending n their promotions at the moment, I feel an obligation to warn all the future buyers just what they may be letting themselves in for. i ordered a dell dimension 2400. i was ordering it for deaf friend of mine. they would not take me as a interpreter, even though i had all her personal info., they wanted her to use a relay system. because they did not have a hard of hearing/deaf option. i was also transfered about a dozen times and all but one of the CSR's spoke english enough where i could understand them. i ended up using my personal info to purchase the computer for my friend. as a first time buyer i would not recommend anyone to purchase a dell, the computers are great, but the tech support and CSR's are the worst i have ever encountered.

purchased a dimension 4400 about 1.5 yrs ago. Thought purchasing on line did not go through, due to a thunderstorm, so I called the Dell Company. Made my purchase again via phone. Wound up with 2 computers. OK so both orders went through. I called the Dell Co. and asked what to do being as to how I was double charged and had 2 computers. I was treated with extreme courtesy and professionalism. Was told what to do with the shipment of the second computer and that all shipping cost would be taken care of through Dell. And they were. Have had 2 Tech problems since then and Both have been taken care of in a speedy and professional way.

Productwise, Dell has no peers. Service/supportwise, Dell had no peers prior to outsourcing to India (or whereever). The tech (if that is what they are)are not very knowledgeable and their command and understanding of American English leaves much to be desired. I had 2 occasions to contact support and both times had to terminate the call because of the language difficulties. I resolved the problems (they were minor) myself. Regardless of the foreign outsourcing of support, I would never purchase another brand of computer or peripherals.
