Do yourself a favor...go to any other website and order a dvd and pay for shipping. Do not get sucked in by the 'Free Shipping' from Deep Discount DVD, unless you don't mind waiting a month to get a DVD. I ordered 'Sex and the City' season 2 on 4/18/04. On 5/4/04 I called to ask them where the dvd was. I was told to please give it another couple of days. I did. On 5/10/04 I called again. They said they would re-ship priority mail this time. On 5/14/04 when there was no dvd in my mailbox, I called. They said they did re-ship but not until 5/13/04. WHAT??? Anyway, their prices are ok and the free shipping really did sound appealing. I have had more aggrevation than any customer should ever have to endure. I feel bad for their customer service people, because after speaking with 4 different ones, it seems like they get many complaints about their shipping times.

Appalling customer service. I sent DDD customer service and email on 15 April 04 asking them to cancel a duplicate order for one dvd that I accidentally pre-ordered twice. The pre-order ship date was 4 May 04. While I received an automated response with a tracking number for this email, as of 10 May 04, I have still not received a response to my (numerous) follow-up emails (in which I have quoted the tracking number each time).
Since that time DDD have shipped the duplicate order to me. Honestly, I am loathe to send the duplicate disc back for a refund, with that kind of performance from customer service, they will probably keep the disc and fail to refund my credit card.
Do yourself a favour, deal with someone else who actually employs staff in their customer service department.

I ordered a DVD once before & it came within a week. The DVD came as described and was at least 3 dollars cheaper than any other site I looked at. The delivery service was great. I am about to order another DVD today and I hope I receive the same service. After looking at other people's reviews, It seems like their return policy and system needs an overhaul but until it happens to me, I can't comment on returns from a personal standpoint.

At first this site seemed a little bit too good to be true. The lowest priced dvds I have ever found, combined with free shipping?! But yes, it's true.
When new dvds come out that I want to purchase I search all around for the cheapest place to get them from. I always end up back with Deep Discount DVD.
The free shipping is for the regular mail delivery. If you want faster priority or overnight delivery then it costs money, but it's not too much. It's still a really great deal!

I have previously shopped using this website in the past. I placed an order on 3/22/04--that's 16 days ago. Still, no movie has arrived at my door. I sent an email to customer service over 2 days ago--still no response as to "where is my stuff?" I could have ran down to the local "discount store" 16 days ago and pay the extra $0.50 cents more than it cost on-line and had it by now.

If you do not mind waiting 3 weeks for delivery with free shipping and handling, then you can use this site. I was told delivery no more than 10 business days via email. I was unable to reach anyone via telephone and then proceeded to send an email. I then received a response they were having trouble with their email service and it would take about 72 hours for a response. I did finally receive the DVD in 13 business days. Pricing was excellent, but because of the mailing experience and terrible customer service response, I would not even chance paying extra for postage to get a DVD faster. This was my first order and probably my last.

I found DeepDiscountDVD.com though a web site search,
I found there prices to be excellent
So I ordered a couple of DVDs at the start of December 2003
as xmas presents, its now February 2004 and im still waiting on the DVDs to arrive, i am based in the UK but they express a delivery time of 10 - 20 working days,
they were supposed to have dispatched the order twice but i still have not received it.
i will not be using this company again,
Amazon maybe a little bit cheaper, but worth it for the service.

This is the only company I use to buy dvds from. Their prices can't be beat, although it sometimes takes a long time for you to get your movies. The longest i've had to wait is 3 weeks, but it's definitely worth it. Never had a problem with my products or with their service.

A surprisingly big selection, and sometimes the prices are absurdly low. With Quick & inexpensive shipping and an exceptionally simple transaction, I was very happy with this store. I don't shop at many different sites online, but this is one of them. Knowing about this shop to get DVDs for less will put you one step ahead of your DVD-collecting friends!

This place has horrendous customer service. I ordered a DVD that was listed as in-stock. After purchasing I discover it is on "backorder". I send them an e-mail to cancel the item (can't cancel items on their webpage unlike most sites) and I receive an e-mail that it is impossible to cancel the item!

Deepdiscount DVD is the worst, I ordered a Christmas gift DVD in early December after the web site said "in stock" and now 01/20/04 and no DVD. I just sent an email last week and was told it hasn't shipped yet because it was backordered then I received a second email two days later saying it shipped 12/31 and they can't supply a tracking# as I requested. Do yourself a favor and spend the few extra bucks on a decent company.

I recently placed an order for three DVDs. A day or so after I ordered, I noticed they had raised the price on one of the DVDs, prompting me to send a piece of e-mail to them to make sure that the DVD wouldn't be charged the inflated amount. All told, it took three pieces of e-mail and SEVEN days for them to respond to that simple query.
When I received the DVDs, I noticed that one of them (a multi-DVD set) had a wrong DVD for its first DVD. I contacted them again via e-mail asking what I should do. Again, this time, it took them SEVEN days for them to respond telling me they'd send a "postage paid label" to me.
It's been TEN days since they told me they'd send the label. It hasn't arrived yet.
For a company that's on the Internet, they seem to not know how to use the Internet to communicate with their customers.
I do not recommend DeepDiscountDVD.com.

Used them for years and overlooked many of their weaknesses. Mainly due to competitive pricing on their part. But recently began to look around the net and found those lower prices from the competitors that they say do not exist. I started looking because even though I've given them a lot of business for an individual dvd buyer I recently got terrible order service and return service. I used amazon.com, for example, as an alternative and got a product cheaper and in "off the factory line" quality when it arrived.
Some examples of why they lost my business: do not answer emails, products constantly arrive looking like they've been thru the ringer or scratched dvds, pathetic telephone customer service, slow shipping, finding stuff cheaper elseswhere, charged once for quicker shipping on an item that was damaged and had to be replaced, don't imform you before you order that an item is back ordered, not very user-friendly website, gotten better prices and service from ebayers, half.comers and amazon.com sellers!
So long DDD! I'm happy to pay a few dollars more elseswhere. I hope you improve. Good luck!

Don't buy from deepdiscountdvd.com. Although the prices are great, you get ZERO for customer service. I ordered $100+ of merchandise back in November. The first shipment was lost in the mail, and I am still waiting for items that were/are backordered. It is January 12th. Customer service is a joke. They never respond to email and they claim a queue of 22 on the phonelines at 7 am in the morning. That alone should be indication of the fact that there are many problems. My credit card statement looks like a mess, with wrong overcharges and credits and additional charges etc...and they don't care. Don't order "expidited" service, as it will take forever to receive anyway. I'm witness to that as my order is now 1 1/2 months old.

i ordered three DVD's and about a week later, 2 showed up and the packing slip said that the third was coming under separate cover. it never showed. phone line is always busy, and they never answer e-mails. when checking status on line it states that all three DVD's were sent. very frustrating, have advised AMEX not to pay.

I was shopping for a DVD online and found a good price and quick delivery from Deep Discount DVD. Unfortunately, this was only half true. Despite the DVD's "in stock" status the order took too long to deliver (2-weeks on express delivery) and I missed a birthday gift. I will never buy from the store again based on the fact that there are plenty of more reliable online stores available not to mention just going to B&N, etc...
