This store has good prices, but...they have no phone number listed on the web site or other way to make personal contact. The e-mail customer service may be run by a computer, for all the insight it shows--parroting info already on the web site without answering questions. I had a package that was not delivered but was sent back by Post Office whim. Deep Discount did credit my account, but did not notify me of their actions. And they refused to answer my request for a phone call and ignored repeated questions about the reorder process.

There is only a few select dvd stores online that I will shop with and I do most of my business with Deep Discount DVD or Amazon, and most all of the time Deep Discount Dvd has the best prices out of any store that I have researched online. I have always received my products under the estimated delivery time and I highly recommend this store above all other online stores. There has only been two or three times that I have found dvd's cheaper elsewhere but most of the time Deep Discount Dvd has the lowest prices and free shipping is included also, I am a very repeat customer and also love the follow up and tracking that they supply with your order. This is a very trustworthy site!!

They do not update their website with product availability? When I placed my order on 12/12/06, there was no indication that the item I ordered was out of stock. So you could imagine my surprise when I checked the order status today and found that the items are on backorder. When I called, the CS rep told me that it is in the warehouse currently being packed. When I asked if they will get here in time for Christmas, all she could tell me is 2-5 business days. When I asked to cancel my order, she said she can't because they are being packed.

So now I have to run out and try to find these games at a store, and if I'm lucky enough to find them, wait for the package to arrive and return it. Or... hope and pray that the shipment gets here on time. Or... explain to a 7 and 9 year old how an online business can't grasp the concept of inventory management and that's why Santa didn't bring you the games he promised.

They started out pretty well, but then mistake after mistake was made. Emailing their customer service did "Nothing" to correct the Problem. I preordered a few items. They sent me the wrong DVD. The said they would send me a prepaid shipping label, which Never arrived. Finally they said they could email it (go Figure). After all the trouble experienced, I canceled all of the remaining items on order.. they proceeded to send out the next item, 2 weeks later anyway. Then when I finally got them to email me another return label, the supervisor, who I am convinced is someone's relative there since she obviously had no idea how to do her job, claimed that the item Never arrived back to them even though it had been a month later. Experience has been mostly positive, however there are some negatives that I have experienced but nothing major that would stop me from buying from them again in the future.

Standard shipping is always free. However, sometimes my movies arrive in a week, sometimes they take 3 weeks or longer. Occasionally they have a dvd listed as being in stock, but when I add it to my cart, it says that it's not currently available. Also, they have sent me junk mail (snail mail) on behalf of some of their partners. A free $2.50 or $5 check made out to you, but if you cash it, you will be charged $99 for some subscription you don't want. A couple of pitfalls, but decent overall.

After checking reviews of Deep Discount DVD, I decided to go ahead and place an order. I ordered a total of 14 DVDs (I used a coupon code for 20% off), the cost came to $100.69.

Order accuracy: received a confirmation email almost immediately that all the DVDs were in stock and within a very short time the DVDs were shipped.

Delivery speed: it took about 2 weeks and the DVDs were delivered. Considering the shipping was FREE I was more than satisfied with the delivery speed.

All the DVDs were delivered and, so far, I am satisfied with them (I'm still checking them).

The selling points are their great prices/free shipping and handling/how easy it was to navigate through the website/payment options (I used Bill Me Later)/and (most important) NO commitment to buy more in the future.

Update Nov 15, 2007: Ordered books, paid almost $10 extra for shipping BECAUSE it included a tracking number...did not receive tracking number. Also, ordered only books that were in stock...after placing order, one was NOT in stock. VERY disappointed!

DDD is a tempting option with low prices on a number of items and free shipping. The company seems to have made an effort to improve its shipping time, though if there is any sort of time expectation on your order you might want to look elsewhere. Though I have placed a number of orders with DDD over the years I have had a few problems. I have received an empty dvd box, I have received the wrong dvd set and most recently I have tried to apply a discount code, only to have the discount show up when I checked out but be charged the full amount. When I told customer service they responded that there may have been a technical glitch with my order- but I would still be charged full price. At this point I would certainly thin twice about shopping with them and perhaps just find another place to do business.

I've ordered a lot of DVDs from them over the years, due to their low prices and free shipping, but the last few orders have had nothing but problems. Beware their "2 for 1" sales because their sale website is full of bugs and I ended up getting multiple copies of the same DVD. Shipped them back as directed for refund but they "never arrived" and money never refunded. Now they shipped me the wrong DVD and I had to PAY postage to send it back for the correct one with no reimbursement! Now dealing with a lost package they shipped. What a headache. Shop around because you can find a pretty good price and MUCH BETTER service without the ripoffs and headaches! AVOID this store!

Deep Discount DVD has lousy customer service and they even go the extra mile to antagonize their good customers with their replacement policies for damaged discs. On no less than three occasions I have received damaged dvds from them (the disc has come off of its storage spindle during or prior to shipping causing the disc to be scratched). After promptly asking for a replacement on each one, I have been told that one would not be shipped until the damaged one was returned. Shipping takes 10 days to 2 weeks each way, so getting a replacement for a damaged disc can take up to 6 weeks. Rather than apologizing for shipping a damaged disc and getting out a replacement right away, these jerks want their damaged disc back first before they will issue a replacement. I did a lot of business with them for over a year before deciding enough is enough. I'll find dvds at comparable prices elsewhere and find someone who handles customer service the right way.

DeepDiscountDVDs is a great store.i shop there alot.they have competitive prices and free shipping.alot of their DVDs are found at lower prices than anywhere else.its truly amazing.they have a good size library of titles but not too huge.thats the only problem,is that you might not find absolutely any DVD.but they do have alot.

Deep Discount DVD used to be a great, most affordable online DVD store, but over the last couple months, they are experiencing problems with delivering the goods.

I ordered two consecutive DVDs that were billed to my credit card, but never shipped. No tracking information is available to customers because the company utilizes the U.S. Postal Service when offering free shipping, so you basically wait. And wait. Only after 15 business days have elapsed will Deep Discount reverse charges for items not delivered, then rebill your account and ship the merchandise using another carrier.

The only explanation offered by the company is that they've "been having problems with the Postal Service taking too long" to deliver items. (Funny, but there seems to be no shortage or delay of other mail in my mailbox...)

By the time you've gone through the rigamorale a couple times, as you can imagine, you're no longer eager to watch your film, but you are aggravated and annoyed.

I loved the idea of free shipping, but I'm now willing to pay a few extra dollars to another company. (Receiving what you pay for on a timely basis is a very nice touch.)

I have ordered from Deep Discount DVD several times. I have never had a problem with any order from them. I have always received orders in a timely fashion.

I have been a loyal customer of Deep Discount DVD since 2003 because of its cheap, no-frills DVD selection.

However, I recently discovered $9 monthly charges on my checking-account statement, all from a company called "WLI*SHOPPERDISCOUNT". Upon doing some research, I found their number and gave them a call. I learned that they had received my information (including debit-card number!) from Deep Discount, and I had been involuntarily added as a member of Shopper Discount. The latter company is listed with hundreds of complaints on the website of Connecticut's Better Business Bureau.

I've learned that this is a common practice by Deep Discount. If you google "Shopper Discount" and "Deep Discount DVD", you'll find a LOT of customer complaints. Apparently, part of the "deep discount" is paid for by selling customer's credit-card information to Shopper Discount.

This experience has so sickened me that I will never shop at Deep Discount again, and I recommend that you do not either.

Great place to shop. Ordered a DVD set for my daughter. Arrived in time for Christmas. Will certainly buy from them again.
