Waste of time, staff friendly when they finally respond
I ordered a refurbished TV that had free shipping which made it quite a bargain at the time. However, it led to a big hassle that was a month's worth of time before I even had a TV to use.
The TV arrived in a week. I turned it on when it arrived and it worked. After 15 minutes, it had a sound problem that was defective (a WELL-KNOWN defective problem). I contacted them and returned the item (selecting that I would like the same model if available instead of a return of money). Upon receiving the item, they said they had none of the same model TVs in stock (their database said 2 at the time) and after accepting my return, their database stated 3. The price on these TVs also dropped. My guess is that it may be to give people such a good deal that they will live with a defective item.
It was hard to get a full refund on shipping costs, especially due to the fact that it was hard to properly communicate with anyone. Phone conversations went nowhere. Calls were not returned when left on voicemail. I ended up entering live chat and was told again that I needed to email the head of the department. So I did so and she called me to settle the situation.
Although she was very friendly and helpful in the end, it was a big waste of my time. The TV was nice, but not worth the hassle. I would have preferred to keep the TV and pay for a new soundboard if I knew how much trouble this would have been.
