Pathetic/inexcusable customer care

Simply awful. Don't use this store. I ordered a Christmas present on 12/21 with 2-day shipping. The receipt stated I would have the item on 12/23. On 12/22 I received a call to verify the shipping address. I was concerned that the item wasn't shipped yet, but I was verbally told I would have the item on 12/24. And now (12/24) I discover through my effort (tracking the order on the internet followed by a phone call to customer service) that the item has been discontinued and I will not have it at all. TWO times (written on the original order 12/21 and verbally 12/22) I was told I would have the item on time. There was not even a courtesy e-mail or phone call to tell me that they messed up my Christmas. Yes, I could have ordered it earlier. However, the reason I ordered from this company is that they told me it would be here on time. The web site showed it was in stock. Absolutely pathetic/inexcusable customer care. The price wasn't even that great. I found the same item elsewhere for $100 less but chose this store as they indicated I would have the item on time. I did note that since then they have at least removed the item from their web site.
