Slow order turnaround
I ordered a cosmetic product from a popular line on a Wednesday and received an email informing me it would not ship until 5 days later. It's not like the product was one that is usually out of stock and and it didn't say it was on backorder either; apparently 3-5 days is their normal processing time, which is much longer than the majority of online retailers. I still ordered since I didn't need the product immediately, but it's still surprising in this day and age how slow some retailers process orders, and you would think that Bloomingdales could do a little better.
I might understand how perhaps a free shipping offer might be a little slower, but I paid for shipping and it still took 6 days before it got moving! Once it shipped, it only took 2 days to get to my location. So overall, there was an 8 day turnaround. I wouldn't shop at bloomingdales.com anymore, unless there's a GWP offer I just can't resist.
Overall, based on the time they provided, I did receive the item within that timeframe; however compared to other major department stores who ship within 2-3 days, Bloomingdales is below average with their online order fulfillment. I rated Customer Service as "average" although I would have put N/A had that been a choice. I never had to personaly call them and I did receive email notifications of my order being received (several hours after I placed the order) and when it finally shipped.
