Be very careful with Black Friday kind of deals!
I've just a bad one as well...
Which is quite unfortunate as I have been an Amazon customer for years (over 10!) and I think this one will lead me to cancelling my account with them, as their behaviour was quite poor. Amazon is renowned for customer service, but is only until you have any kind of problem.
I basically saw a limited time deal and went for it. With some deals, the moment you put it on your basket, then they give you 15 minutes to complete the deal, otherwise you might loose the price (nice ploy in itself...). This was a Black Friday promotion as they call it. Anyway as I was doing this, I kept getting an error message and the price that I was given in my basket was the one without discount. After trying 4 or 5 times, always getting the same technical mistake, I decided to call them.
Over the phone they were nice but even though I explained the problems I faced several times, their take was that the deal was now off, sorry you missed the timing.
These days technical issues are becoming unacceptable... but the thing that got me the most was Amazon not recognizing the mistake and putting it down to me!
So... regular orders seem to work fine but I would stay away from Black Friday deals and that kind of stuff. Is it just a ply to get people interested in other items that you usually wouldn't buy out of amazon? maybe... Well in this case they are loosing a customer who was spending quite a bit of money with them.
