Just a big telephone center, not a real florist

I needed to send flowers to my sister for her birthday. She lives in the same city as I do. I started poking around online and started to order from 1800 Flowers.com. Come to find out 1-800-FLOWERS.com is just a telephone center. They were going to take my order and call a local florist to fill it. Not only that, but they were going to charge me a $12.99 "handling fee". What a crock. I called a local florist direct and got to talk to the person who designed my sister's flowers. They were beautiful, I got better service and better value for my money.

Just order anything because what will be delivered will Look NOTHING Like What You Ordered!

1-800-FLOWERS.com delivered a cheap inferior product that did not, in any way, resemble the product pictured and described on their website.
The roses were almost dead on arrival.
But, much worse, the expensive-looking vase (with three-dimensional reliefs of angels) that was in the product title, description, and picture was replaced with a cheap plain white vase with a garish hot pink ribbon.
Now I wonder how many other times I thought I was sending a nice expensive gift from 1-800-FLOWERS to someone across the country and they received something horribly tacky.
Customer Service is based in India and did nothing but send me request after request for more information. No matter what information I provided, they said they needed more. Now, no replies.
I tried sending them pictures of the item ordered, the item sent, and even forwarding their own company's Order Confirmation email. Customer Service said they couldn't open any of these or even HTML emails.
Apparently, 1-800-FLOWERS Customer Service tactic is to stall, then ignore.
I will never purchase anything from 1-800-FLOWERS again and I suggest you don't either!

1-800-Flowers webpage did not provide proper security

We were about to finish our online order by entering the credit card information, but at that point my wife and I noticed that the web page was NOT secure (SSL encrypted). The page was listed as HTTP instead of HTTPS, and our internet browser (Firefox) also indicated that it was NOT a secure web page, because it did not show a security lock.
This is important! You don't want to be entering confidential data on a non-secure page.
We went over to FTD.com and placed our order there instead. Their website clearly indicates the proper security.
I am a very experienced and knowledgeable internet user, especially for security matters. But when I complained to 1800flowers, their response was that everything was fine. I guess it was just my imagination.
