2009 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is deep and vibrant, with good color and excellent clarity. Aromatically, wine is quite open, even opulent, a mix of velvety rose petals, violets and spices. On palate, texture is lush and mouth-coating, but well-balanced. Together, they provide definition and intensity, followed by refined, silky tannins. finish is quite long, with beautiful cherry notes. James Laube in Wine Spectator writes about 2009 vintage, stating: Napa's biggest money grape, Cabernet Sauvignon, enjoyed same ideal growing conditions until October, when a pair of strong storms dumped enough rain to worry growers. Those who picked before storms were excited about young wine's color, flavor, acids and tannins. But those who waited out deluge faced a mixed bag.
