2009 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is deep and vibrant, with good color and excellent clarity. Aromatically, wine is quite open, even opulent, a mix of velvety rose petals, violets and spices. On palate, texture is lush and mouth-coating, but well-balanced. Together, they provide definition and intensity, followed by refined, silky tannins. finish is quite long, with beautiful cherry notes. While '09 will age quite well, I won't hesitate to enjoy it now! International Wine Cellar rating: 90.

2008 Estate Vineyard Pinot Noir is an elegant wine that truly expresses terroir of three unique vineyard sites within Willamette Valley that contribute to this bottling. Aromas of cherry, pie spice, nuts and plum, are complimented by just a hint of brown sugar sweetness on nose. A sweet entry with flavors of tart red cherry, raspberry, orange peel, black pepper and dark chocolate. A lively, spicy sip with mouthfilling body, lively acid and balanced, round tannins. finish is long, juicy, and just a little spicy. Appealing now but will further reward those who cellar this wine. Drink now through 2016. Pair with prime rib, quail, duck, wild game, and winter vegetables-especially mushrooms. Great paired with dishes with complex spices. Try with a variety of medium to strong cheeses. Wine Spectator rating: 90.

By combining grapes from a variety of appellations we created a wine with complex layers. We selected premium vineyard sites throughout Willamette Valley, including Willakia (Eola-Amity Hills), Nuestro Sueño (Eola-Amity Hills), Zena Crown (Eola-Amity Hills), Kalita (Yamhill-Carlton District), and Monk's Gate (Yamhill-Carlton District). All of vineyard sites embrace viticultural practices that reduce or eliminate use of pesticides which can have a negative impact on soil's health. vineyard sites were closely monitored to ensure maximum quality of fruit. Harvest decisions were made based on fruit flavors and sugars. 2009 Grande Cuvee is abundant with aromas of cranberry and raspberry, complimented by notes of mocha, nutmeg and cinnamon stick with hints of licorice and cola. palate is complex and intriguing without being overwhelming. It is round and fleshy; expressing more red fruit and introducing highlights of dark plum and black cherry with vanilla and spice undertones in elegant Wine

Bottle Size:12--750ml Wine Spectator:-- Robert Parker:92 Wine Enthusiast: -- 2006 Argyle Pinot Noir Nuthouse Robert Parker Tasting Notes Wine Advocate # 185 Oct 2009 Jay Miller 92 Drink: 2009 - 2017 $45-$62 (60) The 2006 Pinot Noir Nut House reflects the opulence so easily achievable in the problem-free 2006 vintage. Dark ruby-colored, this is a large-scaled, full-bodied Pinot with gobs of flavor and a voluptuous, sexy personality. Enjoy it over the next 6-8 years. Rollin Soles is convinced that great Chardonnay can be produced in the Willamette Valley. He presented a vertical of Nut House Chardonnay from 1999 through 2007 to make his point. The wines clearly reflect vintage conditions with 1999 and 2002 showing particularly well and 2003 reflecting the effects of extreme heat spikes. Argyle's Pinot Noir fruit was all picked pre-rain.

In mouth there is a velvety richness with bright red fruit flavors and a nudge of black pepper and exotic spices. sweet berry center has a tad of vanilla or honey that heightens that central sweet spot and escorts wine through a valley of subtle complexities that add to melding of berry, earth and graveliness as it dances across your palate. This wine is from United States, Oregon region, Willamette Valley sub-region. Ponzi Vineyards, one of Oregon’s pioneer wineries, was founded in 1970 by Dick and Nancy Ponzi. Since then they have set a standard for Oregon’s viticultural innovation and winemaking excellence. In 1988 Dick Ponzi was recognized by Robert Parker as one of the world’s finest winemakers, one of only three Americans so distinguished. In 1994 his daughter Luisa took over winemaking duties from her father, though the two still work closely together. Luisa apprenticed with Christophe Roumier of Domaine Roumier in Burgundy as well as with Luca Currado of Vietti in Piedmont. The Ponzi family has always maintained a philosophy of building strong, healthy vineyards through sustainable agricultural practices. All 120 acres of the Ponzi owned and managed vineyards - Estate, Abetina, Madrona, Aurora and Avellana - are LIVE Certified Sustainable. Ponzi Vineyards consistently achieves excellence in the creation of its wines. No expense is spared, nor experimentation left untried. “There is a reputation behind our label that I want people to know they can count on.' ~ Winemaker Luisa Ponzi. Hand-picked fruit from Ponzi’s Madrona, Aurora, Linda Vista, Gemini, Alloro, Lazy River, Gran Moraine, Wahle, Sunset Viewand Briscoe vineyards was sorted, destemmed and fermented in small lots with five days of cold soaking to increase aromaand color. The must was manually punched down twice a day for 12-20 days and aged for 11 months in French oak barrels(30% new).. “Spiced cherry, cinnamon, clove and graham cracker aromatics lead to a soft entry of licorice and peppercorn notes. The midpalate sweetness finishes with dusty firm tannins.'~ Winemaker Luisa Ponzi PINOT NOIR Wine Oregon Still Wine

2009 harvest was bountiful to say leaSaint Even after significant thinning remaining clusters were largest we have experienced in Oregon in 25 years. In 2009, harvest of each vineyard designated Pinot was refined by cluster size. To quote Ken, in order to ensure that vineyard designated wines maintain their intensity, specific blocks or clones were set aside. Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is a blend of these larger clustered blocks. Though not at same level of complexity as vineyard designates, this blend is extremely enjoyable, lush and full of pure, Pinot fruit. Wine Spectator rating: 90.
