Intense blackberry liqueur and espresso bean develop into rose and truffle oil aromas as wine opens. Creamy and opulent, flavors of semi-sweet chocolate, mocha, and plum layer front and mid-palate. A beam of fresh minerality (archetypal Stags Leap District character) frames long silky finish. Decanting is recommended. Revisit over 24 hours as new layers develop with time. Clear, amber colour with golden highlights. A complex and intense aroma of dried fruits (fig, prunes, almonds), toffee and vanilla-spice. Medium sweet, smooth, soft fruit, balanced by a strong backbone of citrus acidity and a luxurious, long finish. Leacock's 10 year old Bual is fined and does not require decanting. It is excellent as an after dinner drink and also very good with fruit, chocolate, cakes and hard cheeses. It has been bottled when ready for drinking and will keep for several months after opening. Wine Enthusiast rating: 88.

This wine is from Portugal, Port region. Taylor Fladgate 2007 Vargellas Vinha Velha Port. This is the Port of the vintage. Blackberry and cassis on the nose. Very perfumed and fruity. Some mineral and wet earth underneath. Full-bodied, medium sweet and very chewy, with fabulous tannins and a big mouthfeel. Racy and powerful. Barrel Tasting Score range: 97-100 The Wine Spectator, 2009.Quinta De VargellasThis is a 'single quinta' wine, made in exactly the same way as Taylors Vintage Port, but using only the grapes from this individual property, trodden on the estate. Only small quantities are made, and only in very good years. Many experts believe Taylors Single Quinta Vintage Ports to be better than other companies' declared years. The name of Taylors is more of an assurance than the year.Taylors has owned the beautiful estate of Vargellas for over a century, and it is acknowledged as one of the great vineyards of the world. It has the highest percentage of old vines of any quinta in the Douro, 60% being over 75 years old. Quinta de Vargellas Vintage Ports are ready to drink from ten years, but will go on developing for another twenty years or so - almost as long as Taylor's declared Vintages. ... Read more
This wine is from France, Rhone region. Made from 80% Grenache and 20% Syrah, Mourvedre, Cinsault, Counoise and Vaccarese (aged completely in old wood foudres), the 2009 Chateauneuf du Pape Tradition displays classic, textbook Chateauneuf du Pape aromas of kirsch liqueur, roasted Provencal herbs/garrigue, cedar and loamy soil intermixed with a hint of lavender. Full-bodied and lavishly fruited with moderately sweet tannin and abundant glycerin, this heady, upfront, complex, evolved 2009 can be enjoyed over the next 10-12 years. The Sabon family that owns Clos du Mont Olivet was one of the first to estate bottle Chateauneuf du Pape over 80 years ago. This is a highly respected source of traditional wines that age wonderfully. The familyas habit of bottling as they sold the wine has been abandoned, and the result is far more consistent offerings than existed 15 or 20 years ago. The 2009s are beautiful wines, but the 2010s will ultimately eclipse them. Both vintages merit serious interest. Wine RHONE
