This wine is from United States, California region, Napa County sub-region and Napa Valley appellation. Arietta H Block Hudson Vineyards Napa Valley is a blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The Cabernet Franc is solely from the 2.3 acre Hudson Vineyards H Block, a shy-bearing, volcanic, southwest facing slope, which naturally yields just three tons per acre. The Merlot is grown in the Hudson Vineyards N Block, about 100 yards away. Typically, the two fields are picked simultaneously and co-fermented, assuring a marriage of the varieties. The Cabernet Franc provides the cassis, blueberry, brown sugar character, while the Merlot brings dark chocolate to the aroma and a chewy richness to the finish. Harvested near the extreme of ripeness, the wine is fermented with its indigenous yeast, macerated with the skins for six weeks, and then aged for two years in all new French oak barrels. Naturally clarified by traditional Bordeaux racking, the blend is bottled without fining or filtration. The intense concentration masks the substantial tannin, allowing the wine to be served young and to age in bottle for 10 or more years. BORDEAUX BLEND Wine California Still Wine

A record-setting heat wave in September with attendant dehydration reduced yields dramatically. In barrel and at bottling the Arietta H Block 2004 was beautifully perfumed and forward, with flavors of medium density and great persistence. The wine is now hibernating (as is often the case for Ariettas between two and four years after vintage date) so best to try after 2008.

This wine is from France, Alsace region, Alsace Aoc sub-region. Planted in the heart of the HENGST vineyard, this wine is not authorised to have the Grand Cru appellation. The ”H” refers to the HENGST.The soil of the 360 meter high slope which dominates this vineyard is essentially a mixture of limestone from the Vosges, chalky marl (14% active) and layers of red, brown, green and beige sediment hundreds of meters thick. The mother rock is of an orange - yellow hue. Dating as far back as the Jurassic period the elements vary in density from very fine to very course. The Ph factor is within 7.8 to 8.3. This Grand Cru is 130.95 acres (53,02 Ha) of vines. The combined calcareous and marl soils tend to produce rich full bodied wines. In their youth they have an untamed character, reminiscent of the vineyard’s name - ”stallion”. They slowly mature to astonishing aromatics and fabulous richness.. The grapes were hand picked and whole-bunch pressed very slowly and gently in pneumatic presses over 5-8 hours to give a clean must and a beneficial amount of skin contact. Transferred to thermo-regulated stainless steel tanks the juice then began a natural fermentation using only its own natural yeast which lasted for one month. The fermentation was initially temperature controlled but was eventually allowed to proceed at its own pace to allow the wine to develop its own character and complexity. The wine stabilized in stainless steel tanks naturally during the winter season and, following a very gentle filtering, was bottled in March 2007 before the heat of summer to preserve the natural carbonic gas (a natural anti-oxidant). Malolactic fermentation is always avoided at Josmeyer and no chaptalization takes place.. This delicate white exhibits dried fruit flavors of pear and green apple, with a hint of petrol. There’s an underlying note of earth, and a spicy element weaves through the wine. Fresh.. Terrines of fish, scallops, sweetbread, lobster, blanquette, souffles, vegetables, poultry, pies, creamy cheeses. AUXERROIS Wine Alsatian Still Wine

This wine is from Argentina, Andean North West region, La Pampa sub-region and Alto Valle Del Rio Colorado appellation. Bodega del Desierto is owned by the brother-and-sister team of Armando and Maria Loson. A groundbreaking line of wines produced from Argentina’s high desert is both a tribute to South American independence and the pioneering spirit of the region’s first vineyard and winery. Bodega del Desierto named the wines 25/5 La Pampa to honor the town whose terroir and beauty are powerfully expressed in their wines. The town of 25 de Mayo (25th of May) is itself named in recognition of the date that began Argentina’s surge toward independence from Spain. Bodega del Desierto is located in the province of La Pampa appellation of Alto Valle Rio Colorado (High Valley of the Red River). While established Argentina wine regions such as Mendoza and San Juan have gained notoriety for Malbec and other wines in recent years, those from the windy, arid conditions of La Pampa reflect the region’s high desert spirit - wild and new. The results are bold, deep red wines and fine, delicate whites. The winemaker is Sebastian Cavagnaro and the vineyard manager is Adrian Barrios. Winemaker Paul Hobbs acts as a consultant.. (47% Cabernet Sauvignon/37% Malbec/16% Cabernet Franc). Aged 20 months in French (70%) and American oak (30%).. Good deep red-ruby. Red currant, graphite, cocoa powder and enticing oak on the nose. Chardonnay takes on different personalities depending on the style of the winemaking. This Night Harvest Chardonnay is meant to be light and refreshing enough to drink on its own, yet have enough roundness and body to be paired with meats, cream sauces, cheeses, white meat, and heartier fare. This Chardonnay is tropical with aromas of pineapple and guava, yet has a touch of light honeysuckle, vanilla, and toasted oak, which addsa sweetness to the bouquet of the wine. On the palate, this wine is rich in texture and perfectly balanced. The bright acidity contributes to citrus nuances and the richness of the wine is accentuated by hints ofvanilla cream and lightly toasted oak.

A seasoned vine will bear fruit: our lovely Wine Grape Bonsai bears tiny, edible grape clusters. As in the old adage about a fine wine improving with age, our Wine Grape Bonsai tree takes more than ten years for our expert artisans to grow and cultivate; only then are the most beautiful and hardy specimens chosen for repotting into bonsai containers. Over the decade, our horticulturists take great care to train them into their classical, expressive Wine Grape Bonsai form and shape. Bonsai may or may not arrive bearing fruit. We select the bonsai for you from among a variety of ten-year-old California wine grape varietals available: chardonnay, zinfandel, or cabernet sauvignon Wine Grape Bonsai tree arrives with or without fruit in a handsome ceramic dish Depending on a variety of conditions, may or may not produce fruit Whether fruiting or not, still creates a unique ornamental vignette on buffet or bar Fruiting bonsai, like this vine, are happiest in full sun sites; watch it flower in Spring, and shed its leaves late in the Fall. This wine is from Australia, South Australia region, Barossa sub-region and Barossa Valley appellation. Notes from Winemaker Chris Ringland - I blended Bitch Grenache Aragon 2009 from a selection of un-oaked Grenache wines from various sub-regions of Aragon and Navarra, around the Southern regions of the Ebro river valley. The climate is typical of inland Northern Spain; continental with very cold winters and hot, dry summers. Although rainfall varies considerably, depending on altitude, the annual average rainfall in Zaragoza, the regional capital of Aragon, is around 360mm or 14”, which is very low and comparable with the dry, inland viticultural climates of Southern Australia and the central valley of California. Soils vary considerably as well. They are typically alluvial, but zones of rich red-brown loams and white limestone are intermixed with very rocky slate at higher altitudes. Grenache (Garnacha) survives here without the need for irrigation. Yields are typically low and this, combined with a historical selection of small-berried, deeply colored clones, produces wines of a more ”masculine” expression of the variety. Dark cherry and raspberry aromas are underpinned with spicy, peppery notes with hints of anise. Aragon Grenache displays extraordinary natural acid balance, even at elevated ripeness levels. I have selected wines, which convey vibrant, juicy fruit together with a very soft, sweet-fruited palate structure. The key here, as I have found elsewhere with my winemaking experiences, is very gentle handling during the primary fermentation, with a big emphasis on very soft pressing of the fermented grape skins. While Aragon Grenache can take surprisingly well to quite lavish new oak during maturation, the style for Bitch Grenache is all about fruit aromas and flavors. Maturation without oak influence enhances the natural fruit expression of these selections. 2009 vintage in Northern Spain saw a continuation of warm, dry summers, with very little rainfall during the vintage months. Clean, slowly ripened grapes retained impeccable fruit and acid balance at harvest time. Bitch Aragon Grenache is very approachable now, but don’t be deceived into thinking that it won’t age. I predict that the wine will develop further personality with 3 to 5 years in the cellar..
