This wine is from Australia. R Wines is a new company founded by importer and marketing genius, Dan Philips, along with co-owner, renowned winemaker, Chris Ringland. Winemakers for R Wines are Chris Ringland, Lisa Wetherell, Andrew Hercock, and John Hughes. It encompasses four familiar labels, Marquis Philips, 3 Rings, Roogle, and Bitch, along with 13 others created especially for R Wines. Needless to say, the packaging of these wines is amazingly creative but, more importantly, what is in the bottle consistently over-delivers from low-end to high-end. The R series features Cabernet Sauvignon from the Barossa and a Rose of Cabernet Sauvignon from McLaren Vale. The labels portray different takes on the letter “R'. Consumers owe it to themselves to read the witty back labels. The Marquis Philips wines have established a six year track record of delivering a big bang for the buck. The wines are now made by a team put together by Dan Philips and Chris Ringland with absolutely no change in quality. Starting with the 2006 vintage, however, all of the fruit is sourced from McLaren Vale. The other change of note is that Merlot has been dropped from the program, primarily because of the difficulty of finding Merlot good enough to merit the M-P label..

This wine is from United States, California region, Napa County sub-region and Napa Valley appellation. The name KARIA (kar'-ee-ah) is derived from a Greek word meaning graceful, and it is this very character that we seek most in this wine. With stylistic inspiration coming specifically from our ARCADIA VINEYARD Chardonnay, the wine is refreshing, light and graceful on the palate, with bright acidity supporting ripe fruit flavors and a butterfly kiss of oak.. We source the fruit for this wine in the cooler climate regions of the Napa Valley, with over 40% of the blend coming from our estate vineyards. ARCADIA VINEYARD, at the foot of Mt. George, provides a framework of invigorating acidity as well as beautiful floral notes. B.R.V., our vineyard in the Oak Knoll District, contributes sweet, juicy apple and pear characters. We complement the fruit from these vineyards with grapes from select vineyards in Carneros that enhance the blend with citrus notes and a minerality that region is known for. In the cellar, oak and malolactic fermentation are used with a light touch. It's a terroir-driven approach that is built on the belief that winemaking techniques should contribute accent notes and not make the dominant statement. CHARDONNAY Wine California Still Wine

This wine is from Spain. Bodegas Pintia is owned by Vega Sicilia. Pintia is located further west along the Duero River inside the warmer D.O. of Toro. The estate owns 96 hectares of land. The first vintage released was the 2001. As for the 2005 Pintia, it is 100% Tinta de Toro aged for one year in new French and American oak. Opaque purple-colored, it offers a complex perfume of pain grille, pencil lead, spice box, black cherry, and blackberry. This leads to a full-bodied, ripe, layered wine with intense flavors, serious complexity, and exceptional length. It has enough structure to unfold for another 4-6 years and drink well through 2025. Wine Advocate 95 Points Blend: 100% Tinta del Toro (Tempranillo) Area under vine: 96 hectares, half planted with mature vines, the other half planted since acquisition in 1997. Average vine age: 20-45 years (the immature vines are not used to make Pintia) Soil: Sandy stony topsoil, with some layers of red clay, upon deep gravel. No cases produced 2002: 8300 \ Wine SPANISH

This wine is from United States, California region, Napa County sub-region and Napa Valley appellation. Our Napa Valley collection of wines are crafted with the same approach to winemaking as our limited-production estate wines, resulting in wines of supple power and elegance. In fact, fruit from our estate vineyards makes a significant contribution to our Napa Valley Merlot. Then, to complement our estate fruit's distinctive qualities of flavor and structure, we turn to independent growers whose vineyards meet our rigorous farming standards.. Over 55% of this blend is composed of estate fruit. We get much of this fruit from our ARCADIA VINEYARD, which contributes structure as well as a core of red berry and plum characters with elements of spice. Then we layer in fruit from B.R.V., our estate vineyard in the Oak Knoll District, providing rounder, brighter fruit notes and a tobacco leaf character. To augment the supple character of the Merlot, we added a small but important percent of Cabernet Sauvignon to build weight and intensity. Fifteen months in French oak barrels brings all the elements together for an approachable, yet refined wine. MERLOT Wine California Still Wine

This wine is from United States, California region, Napa County sub-region and Stags Leap District appellation. The FAY vineyard is the land where the story of Stag's Leap Wine Cellars began back in 1969 when Warren Winiarski tasted Nathan Fay's 1968 homemade Cabernet. Warren knew, instantly, that he had found what he was searching for-classic elements of fruit and structure, suppleness and balance. It was a style that Warren refers to as “an iron fist in a velvet glove.' As luck would have it, an adjoining prune orchard was for sale. The Winiarski's purchased the land and planted a vineyard-now known as S.L.V. - and soon after, Stag's Leap Wine Cellars was born.. In 1986, Nathan offered to sell his vineyard to the Winiarski family. In his honor, the vineyard was named FAY. By the time we acquired the vineyard, many of the vines were nearly a quarter-century old and nearing the end of their best growing years. We embarked on an ambitious replanting program, experimenting with rootstocks, row orientation, and trellising to attain optimal expression of the terroir. Our replanting efforts are now fully realized and all vineyard blocks are in production. Vineyard blocks on the eastern slope, closest to the Palisades, contribute structural components derived from the volcanic soils there, while the more aromatic components come from the vineyard blocks on the western alluvial upland. When blended together, we achieve the classic expression of ”an iron fist in a velvet glove.” CABERNET SAUVIGNON Wine CALIFORNIA STILL WINE

This wine is from United States, California region, Napa County sub-region and Napa Valley appellation. Arietta H Block Hudson Vineyards Napa Valley is a blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot. The Cabernet Franc is solely from the 2.3 acre Hudson Vineyards H Block, a shy-bearing, volcanic, southwest facing slope, which naturally yields just three tons per acre. The Merlot is grown in the Hudson Vineyards N Block, about 100 yards away. Typically, the two fields are picked simultaneously and co-fermented, assuring a marriage of the varieties. The Cabernet Franc provides the cassis, blueberry, brown sugar character, while the Merlot brings dark chocolate to the aroma and a chewy richness to the finish. Harvested near the extreme of ripeness, the wine is fermented with its indigenous yeast, macerated with the skins for six weeks, and then aged for two years in all new French oak barrels. Naturally clarified by traditional Bordeaux racking, the blend is bottled without fining or filtration. The intense concentration masks the substantial tannin, allowing the wine to be served young and to age in bottle for 10 or more years. BORDEAUX BLEND Wine California Still Wine

This wine is from United States, California region, Napa County sub-region and Stags Leap District appellation. CASK 23, made only in exceptional vintages, is usually a blend of the most distinctive fruit from our S.L.V. and FAY estate vineyards. The story of CASK 23 began during the harvest of 1974. Back then, winery founder Warren Winiarski enlisted the help of celebrated winemakerAndre Tchelistcheff. As they tasted through various lots of new wines from that year, they noticed a distinct character in a lot from the center of Block 4, a character they described as “crushed violets'. It was so appealing that they decided to age this wine separately in a wooden cask, number 23. The wine was still so deliciously distinct after further aging in barrel, Warren decided to bottle it separately and give it a special name-CASK 23.. Much of S.L.V. has been replanted, but the vines in Block 4 from the original planting in 1972 still stand, and they continue to produce fruit of exquisite character. Over the years, we've identified other blocks and sub-blocks of our estate vineyards that consistently yield fruit ofexceptional quality, but the choice of which grapes go into CASK 23 is far from automatic. We pick and vinify in small lots, then carefully monitor each lot's development to determine which ones live up to their full potential. The fruit from S.L.V., with its volcanic soils, contribute complex structure, concentration, and spicy intensity, while the alluvial soils of FAY yield fruit with lush perfume and rich berry flavors. When blended together, the intense “fire'-like qualities of S.L.V. and the supple, “water'-likecharacteristics of FAY create a wine of classic elegance, structure, and age-ability. This wine is from United States, California region, Napa County sub-region and Napa Valley appellation. For the Roman poet Virgil, ARCADIA was celebrated as a place of pastoral simplicity, where inhabitants lived in close harmony with nature. In southern Napa Valley, at the foot of Mt. George, a 128-acre parcel revealed itself in a similar way to the Winiarski family, who purchased the land in 1996 and named it ARCADIA VINEYARD. This vineyard produces Chardonnay similar to classic Burgundian Chablis. From the first release with the 1998 vintage, it has won accolades for its combination of alluring perfume, delicate fruit, vibrant minerality, and understated oak.. Located on a strand of gently rolling hills, ARCADIA VINEYARD is comprised of gravelly silt loam soils formed in part by an ancient inland lake. Cool to moderate temperatures prevail here in this vineyard just east of the town of Napa. The flinty, citrus-spiked fingerprint of this vineyard-designated Chardonnay originates from the vineyard’s climate and soil structure-which includes deposits from crushed shells. With such beautiful fruit coming from this vineyard, we show restraint in our winemaking practices-exercising minimal use of malolactic fermentation and aging the wine in older barrels that impart little to no oak character to the wine. In this way, we showcase the distinctiveness of this vineyard site. CHARDONNAY Wine California Still Wine

In barrel and at bottling the Arietta H Block 2004 was beautifully perfumed and forward, with flavors of medium density and great persistence. The wine is now hibernating (as is often the case for Ariettas between two and four years after vintage date) so best to try after 2008.

His great insight was understanding the potential, still untapped, of the territory of Vincigliata in Fiesole, with lots of minerals on a clay and galestro foundation softened by sand. Separate vinification for every varietal left almost entirely uncrushed in open barriques, no pressing, and a wise blending and refinement are just some of the secrets of the amazing TestamattaaHowever, the series of wines made this year are so suberb that they cannot even be compared with the best offerings of recent years, which had already raised such clamor.a - Daniel Thomases 100% Sangiovese. 37 hectares of vineyards located throughout the territory of Fiesole, surrounded by woods and centuries-old olive orchards, on soils rich with clay and schist, give fruit to unique enological results, with wines characterized by complex perfumes and elegant tannins. Convinced of the importance of using old vines since 2000, the year of their first vintage, Bibi Graetz has been dedicated to the constant search for vines older than 50 years. The vines producing the fruit for Testamatta are between 30-65 years of age. The vineyards are south-facing at an altitude of 250 meters. Each vine produces only around a pound/500 grams of grape. This wine is from France, Burgundy region, Cote De Nuits sub-region and Nuits St Georges appellation. In 2006, Pascal Marchand, who had forged an international reputation as a brilliant winemaker over more than two decades, launched a new Burgundian micro-negociant business under his own name. A native of Montreal and an adventurer at heart, Pascal began his career in wine working the harvest at Chateau de Chorey-les-Beaune in Burgundy in 1983. He returned the following year and quickly established himself as one of the region's rising stars after being hired by the Domaine du Comte Armand in Pommard. Little known before then, the Domaine and its Premier Cru monopole vineyard Clos des Epeneaux quickly gained renown and Pascal's wines became recognized by prominent journalists and aficionados as reference points for Pinot Noir's modern style. After 15 years at Comte Armand, he took on a new challenge in 1999, working with the Boisset family to launch their showcase estate, the Domaine de la Vougeraie - one of the most ambitious projects the region had seen since World War II. The association with the Boissets also led Pascal to further expand his horizons, consulting on their projects in Beaujolais, Minervois, California, Canada and South America. Since leaving the Boisset group in 2006, Pascal has established himself independently as a winemaker and consultant - in Burgundy at Domaine Jean Fery et Fils; in Sonoma, California at Joseph Phelps' Freestone Winery; in Niagra, Canada at Tawse Winery; in Australia at Carlei in South Yarra and Heathcote, Prancing Horse in Mornington Peninsula, Turner's Crossing in Bendigo, and with his own brand Marchand & Burch, which he founded with his friend Jeff Burch in Western Australia. Finally, he continues to work with VC Family Estate in Chile and Argentina, whose collection of brands includes Veranda, a brand Pascal had launched with Boisset in 2002. Today, Pascal's personal passion and commitment to working with Burgundy's most distinctive terroirs is realized through his new negociant business, which has grown to encompass 36 appellations of the Cotes de Nuits and a few, mainly for white wines, from the Cotes de Beaune. The production, which has reached 6,000 cases, is now being marketed under a new label: Marchand & Tawse, since Pascal formed a partnership with long-time friend and business associate Moray Tawse. The fruit for these wines is sourced from growers Pascal knows and trusts, and vineyards with a minimum of 35 years of age. All are perfectly maintained. Many are farmed organically, which is not surprising since Pascal has been a leader in the use of organic and biodynamic methods through the years. All of his operations are carried out according to the lunar calendar. The wines are vinified and matured in cellars in the heart of Nuits-St.-Georges, using barrels selected from two specialized artisanal coopers. The wood is selected from the best plots in the forests of Alliers, Cher, Compeigne, Fontainbleau, Jupille and Oise. The staves are seasoned for 4-5 years and the barrels are toasted very lightly and slowly. The wines speak directly of their origins and of the sensitivity Pascal has cultivated throughout his remarkable career. PINOT NOIR Wine French Still Wine

This wine is from Australia, West Australia region, South West Australia sub-region and Margaret River appellation. There has been a lot of experimentation with Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon at Cullen over the years. The initial blend gave way to varietal Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc in the 1980s. From 1991 to 1993, a reserve blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Semillon was made as well as varietal Sauvignon and Semillon. Since 1997, there has been only one wine made from these grapes. The proportions of the two varieties may vary from year to year depending on the quality of each variety.. Crustaceans, oysters, fish and mild Asian food SEMILLON

This wine is from United States, California region, Sonoma County sub-region and Russian River Valley appellation. Created as a sister label in 2001, Migration is the newest expression of Goldeneye’s commitment to Anderson Valley Pinot Noir. With a name chosen to represent change and movement, Migration offers winemaker Zach Rasmuson greater creativity and flexibility as he blends his distinctive Anderson Valley wines.Located in the heart of Mendocino County, Anderson Valley traces a northwest path from the redwoods to the Pacific. The region’s proximity to the coast creates a climate distinguished by low-lying ocean fog that evolves into long, mildly cool days perfect for the cultivation of Pinot Noir.Using fruit from five estate vineyard properties and grapes selected from other top vineyards in the Anderson Valley appellation, Migration has developed its own distinctive fresh, ripe flavor. Crafted as a lighter alternative to the rich, structured wines of Goldeneye, Migration benefits from the same attention to detail in the vineyard and winemaking.Choosing between 22 different clonal varieties of Pinot Noir from 23 separate vineyard blocks, the wine enjoys a level of quality in grape selection rivaled by few Pinot Noirs in its class. With each block individually harvested, vinified and barrel-aged, Zach draws from a wide canvas of flavors for his final blend. Aged for 18 months in new French oak barrels, Migration is a second label wine that stands on its own.Migration’s label features the artwork of renowned wildlife artist David Maass. The original painting depicting a flock of Goldeneye ducks migrating along the Pacific Coast is part of the waterfowl art collection on display at the Goldeneye winery. Deviation wine, incorporating new ingredients from the plant kingdom, delivers higher levels of sensory pleasure than can be done with grapes alone. Its name refers not only to a deviation from winemaking practice but also to the history of specialty winemaking at Quady and as homage to change. Mysteriously attractive aromatics, sweet but with a surprisingly dry finish, and ethno botanical significance (of its non grape botanicals) make Deviation a wine for romance. Living up to its name, it is different in composition, in sensory impact, and in its power to induce emotion and feeling from other wines.DOUBLE GOLD MEDAL:Tasters Guild Wine LoversGOLD MEDAL:Orange County FairPacific Rim Intl Wine CompSan Diego National Wine CompSilver Medal:Amenti del VinoDallas Morning News Intl Wine CompLos Angeles Intl Wine CompNational Womens Wine CompSan Francisco Fair IntlVino Challenge IntlSpecial Award:Beverage Testing Institute- 93ptsDecanter Magazine- May 2007- Best Fortified Wine Wine MISC.
