Fine, light bubbles in a long-lasting flow. bouquet is delicate and subtle, with elegant fruitiness (red fruits: strawberry, fig), zesty hints (citrus fruit: lemon and orange) and juicier nuances such as vine peaChateau There is a deep, slightly sweet burst of aromas. In mouth, bite is young, springlike and energetic: full-bodied and silky, but based on very mineral freshness. This mineral quality is typical for Cristal Rose, expressing chalkiness and saltiness of Aÿ terroir. second mouth has airy notes and great aromatic purity, displaying discrete power of this great cuvee. On airing, a few traces of Danish pastry and lightly roasted dried fruits hint at its enormous capacity for change.

Louis Roederer Cristal, first Prestige Cuvee, was created in 1876 for Tsar Alexander II of Russia. One hundred and thirty-four years later, it remains faithful to its origin, inspired by elegance, purity, and precision. The jewel of Louis Roederer House is Cristal, created in 1876 for Tsar Alexander II. This is champagne at its finest, as inspired today as it has always been, the embodiment of elegance and purity. Cristal is made according to the strictest criteria, based on a drastic process of selection applying to the vintage, the cru, the village, the grapes, and, finally, the wines. Only Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes from the House's ten most celebrated crus are used in the production of this legendary cuvee.. The 2004 Brut Cristal has put on quite a bit of weight since I first tasted it earlier this year. It is a powerful, structured Cristal layered with considerable fruit. Chardonnay seems to play the leading role in 2004, at least today. Cristal is often accessible young, but that is far from the case here. This is a serious, painfully young Cristal that will require considerable patience. Readers who are willing to spend some time with the wine today will find a super-impressive, complete Cristal. The 2004 Cristal is 60% Pinot Noir and 40% Chardonnay. This is Lot L033331E100008, disgorged January, 2010. Anticipated maturity: 2014-2034.My visit to these historic cellars earlier in the year was an eye-opening experience. I spent several hours with Chef de Caves Jean-Baptiste Lecaillon tasting through a wide range of 2009s vins claires. Readers may want to take a look at my feature on www.erobertparker.com for more on those wines. The visit was capped off by previews of the 2004 Cristal and the as-yet-unreleased Cristal Rose. Both were superb. Over the last six months the 2004 Cristal has come together beautifully and is shaping up to be a truly great, monumental Champagne. From top to bottom, this is an impressive set of wines. My only real criticism of Roederer is the estate's insistence on using lot numbers that resemble missile launch codes in their complexity. Surely something simpler must be possible. Sparkling Other SPARKLING WINE IMP

Robert Parker The Wine Advocate Rated 93 Points The NV Brut Premier Cru Cuvee Rubis flows from the glass with sensual layers of perfumed fruit, showing stunning detail, clarity and purity. This vivid, multi-dimensional Champagne is full of nuance, not to mention class. It is simply wonderful and is not to be missed. The Brut Premier Cru Cuvee Rubis is 90% Pinot Noir (including 15% still Pinot) and 10% Chardonnay (equal parts 2006 and 2005 vintages), aged in medium-sized barrels. Disgorged: December, 2008. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2016. Proprietor Laurent Champs makes some of the most elegant, refined wines in Champagne. All of the wines are aged in oak ranging from large, neutral casks to small barriques, some of which are new for the top selections. Few producers have been able to find such impeccable balance using oak. A hint of Ramonet here, a suggestion of Leflaive there....simply put, these are majestic wines that no one who loves fine Champagne will want to be without. - Wine Advocate Stephen Tanzers International Wine Cellar Rated 94 Points 90% pinot noir and 10% chardonnay, with 15% still red wine added; disgorged 12/08) Pale orange-pink with tiny bubbles. Delicate, spicy aromas of redcurrant, strawberry, white flowers and baking spices. Nervy red berry flavors are underscored by lively citrus and mineral qualities, with a note of cinnamon emerging on the back end. Very pure rose with strong finishing cut and excellent clarity-understated but packs a sneaky punch of juicy red fruit flavors on the long, sappy finish.- Tanzer Wine Spectator Rated 92 Points Gingerbread, whole-grain toast, coconut, berry and orange aromas and flavors are complex and well-knit in this elegant, classy Champagne. Firm and dry. Lingers nicely on the finish. Drink now through 2012. 83 cases imported. -BS - Spectator Allen Meadows Burghound Rated 90 Points (90% pinot noir, 10% chardonnay with '04 and '05 fruit; disgorged in October, 2007 but only recently released). In contrast to the heavily pinot-influenced roses (I am speaking, in this case, of those with overt raspberry and strawberry aromas), this is more discreet and more elegant with a more floral and red berry fruit nose that precedes the pure, intense and detailed flavors that are supported by only moderate effervescence and lovely balance and length. As roses go, this is an understated effort with solid if not truly excellent depth and I very much like the precise mouth feel. This could be drunk now or cellared for a few years first. 90/now+ - BurghoundPersonally I have always been a Billecart Salmon Rose drinker, nothing could compare....at least until I had Vilmart & Cie Cuvee Rubis Brut for the first time. I never thought I would utter the words, but this Champagne is now my go-to for Rose and I will never look back.-Christina Wine IMPORTED SPARKLING WINE

This wine is from France, Champagne region. Nose of ginger, raspberries, black-berries, pepper, nuts and stone fruits. Lots of pepper and raspberry on the palate with chalk, peaches and more pepper and raspberry on the finish. This single-vineyard Champagne is made up of 100% Pinot Noir, from 60 year-old vines in the Grand Cru village of Ambonnay. With this wine, Francis Egly is trying to resuscitate the true taste of the Montagne de Reims region. This is the way it tasted 50 years ago, when before it was customary to mix in 25-40% Chardonnay. He intends this to be an expression of the vineyards super-chalky soil, which is a sort of amplified version of Champagnes usual soil composition: 10-11 inches of real soil on the surface, and then solid chalk beneath.Explosive aromas meld into a ripe core of perfumed Pinot fruit as the NV Brut Blanc de Noirs Grand Cru Les Crayeres opens up in the glass. This is another big, full-bodied wine endowed with dense, super-ripe red fruit, mint, spices and licorice. Despite the wine's size there is also tons of clarity and focus. The mousse remains rather fine and elegant, providing a lovely counterpoint to the wine's otherwise extroverted personality. The Blanc de Noirs Grand Cru is Pinot Noir from the Les Crayeres lieu-dit in Ambonnay that spent 48 months on its lees and was disgorged in July, 2008. This wine is from France, Champagne region. The House of Champagne Delamotte is the fifth-oldest Champagne house in the region, founded in 1760 and located in the heart of the Cote des Blancs in Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. Sister house and contiguous to the House of Champagne Salon, Delamotte produces no more than 50,000 cases annually, ensuring that the vineyards of Delamotte dominate the expression of its wines, defining the house's elegant, mineral style. Through hard work in the vineyards and long aging in the cellars, the House of Champagne Delamotte has come to be recognized as one of the leading Champagne producers in the Cote des Blancs.. (80% Pinot Noir/20% Chardonnay). Exclusively from grand cru vineyards. The Pinot Noir is sourced fromvineyards located in the Montagne de Reims area northeast of Epernay, in the villages of Bouzy,Ambonnay and Tours-sur-Marne. The Chardonnay is from Le Mesnil-sur-Oger. The wine was made in thetraditional saignee method, extracting color and complexity from the skins during fermentation. Riddlingis performed entirely by hand.. Nice pale rose colour with tiny bubbles. Strong red fruit aromas on the nose On the palate, fruit is dominant too with vivacity and a hint of acidity. Supple and round. The balance between the dominant Pinot Noir and the smaller percentage Chardonnay gives this wine its beautiful pale rose colour and its delicate notes of red fruits, strawberries, raspberries, wild strawberries and black currants. . ... Read more
This wine is from France, Champagne region. Champagne Taittinger created Comtes de Champagne Rose with the 1966 vintage, released in 1972, as the companion cuvee to Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs. The cuvee is a blend of red and white wines obtained from the first pressing of grapes grown in the villages of the Champagne region most highly-rated for Pinot Noir grapes, and predominantly from the villages of Bouzy and Ambonnay, where Champagne Taittinger's holdings assure the supply of fruit of the highest quality from year to year. Taittinger's extensive vineyard properties, totaling 600 acres in several of Champagne's most highly-rated vineyards, are third in importance among those of the great champagne houses, allowing the firm to rely primarily on its own grapes for the production of its portfolio of cuvees. Comtes de Champagne Rose is elaborated and brought to maturity in the l3th century chalk cellars once belonging to the Abbey of St. Nicaise, where each step of the methode champenoise is performed traditionally. Following harvest, the grapes are pressed immediately in press houses located among the vineyards, yielding a first pressing, referred to as the cuvee, which is followed by two more pressings, referred to as the first and second tailles. The greater part of the juice, and that of the finest quality, is extracted in the cuvee; neither of the tailles are used in Comtes de Champagne Rose. In all, no more than 100 litres (approximately 26 gallons) of juice per 160 kilograms (approximately 350 pounds) of fruit may be extracted from the combined three pressings. The juice is transported to the vinification facility, and a cool fermentation of the must takes place under temperature controlled conditions, after which the wine rests until the end of the winter. Blending for color occurs after the primary fermentation, and thereafter the final cuvee undergoes the secondary fermentation in the bottle at 45 to 50 F in Taittinger's cool cellars, during which the wine acquires complexity and the fine, pinpoint bubbles characteristic of its sparkle. Prior to degorgement, Comtes de Champagne Rose is aged three to four years to fully capture the elegant complexity and full body of the Pinot Noir grape. This sublime rose Champagne, produced solely from Pinot Noir grapes in years exceptional enough to declare a vintage, is appropriately presented in an antique-style bottle of XVIIIth century design. Typical of the Taittinger style, Comtes Champagne Rose is a wine of exquisite refinement; its brilliant salmon pink color is punctuated by fine, lasting pinpoint bubbles. The sweet, red berry fragrance of the variety is offset by very subtle notes of earth and minerals. Clean, vibrant red fruit flavors are confirmed on the generous palate, balanced by a crisp, refined acidity which carries into an elegant, complex finish of considerable persistence. .

92 Wine Advocate: The NV Brut Le Rose is a terrific wine. This wonderfully nuanced, layered Champagne reveals incredible balance and finesse. It is that exceedingly rare rose that has the balance and pedigree to offer great drinking both on its own and at the dinner table. This yearas Le Rose is 60% Pinot Noir, 40% Chardonnay, all 2005 fruit, with 7 grams dosage. Disgorged: February, 2009. Anticipated maturity: 2009-2014. This is a striking set of wines from Alexandre Chartogne, a young grower inspired by Anselme Selosse. Chartogne has begun converting his vineyards to biodynamic farming and is giving his wines less malolactic fermentation than in the past, which may explain, at least in part, why these wines seem more mineral-driven and less overt than in the past. Whatever the reason(s), the wines are simply beautiful and are all highly recommended. - Wine Advocate Wine IMPORTED SPARKLING WINE
